Baizhang qiandun temple, also known as shuangba nianfo hall, is located in Baizhang shuangba village, Chunjiang Town, Xinbei district. Shuangba nianfo hall was built in Sui Dynasty. It was the first ancient temple in Baizhang town. With the change of history, it suffered from frequent wars. Later, it was rebuilt in the sixth year of Jiajing (1500 AD). It was built in 1520, the sixth year of Jiajing reign of Ming Dynasty. It has 12 houses, 23 Mu Temple fields and 3 monks. The traditional temple fair is held in the third half of the lunar calendar every year. It was rebuilt and the opening ceremony was held in 1910. It was rebuilt as shuangba primary school in 1954. There is a broken stele in the rebuilt temple, and the green leather steps along the stone and plinth stone of the original house are relics of the late Qing Dynasty.

When Emperor Qianlong went down to the south of the Yangtze River, he had been cultivated in this temple because of his discomfort. At that time, the old monk in charge of the family treated the emperor carefully. Two days later, the emperor miraculously recovered. Therefore, Emperor Qianlong made a wish to rebuild qiandun temple. After Emperor Qianlong returned to the imperial court, he sent the Imperial Envoys to look for the temple in Changwu area. Because it had been renamed shuangbalei temple, it could not be rebuilt. Later, in the 12th year of Daoguang reign, some temples were restored and reopened.

In 1995, with the approval of the government, it was restored as a place for Buddhist activities. According to the continuous expansion of the temple, 38 temples, including the Buddha Hall, Maitreya hall, dizang hall, Guanyin Hall (Luohan Hall), Wenchang Pavilion, Liedi hall, Zhaitang and Liaofang, were successively built and rebuilt. Now nianfo hall covers an area of 2000 square meters, with a construction area of 980 square meters. In 2006, the temple's staff increased to 14. Through the concerted efforts of all members, six three storey ordinary guest rooms were built, followed by the construction of the main hall, which was completed in the autumn of 2009. The gold statue of the third Buddha and the statue of the eighteen Arhats in the hall were completed at the end of the year.

According to the development trend of the place, it is more and more felt that it is the general trend for the staff to manage the temple. The Buddhist Association of new North District recommended three mages, including Yuan Fang, to join the temple management team as the staff. The development of the place has entered a new stage. The minzong Bureau of Xinbei District of Changzhou City received the application from Baizhang shuangba nianfo hall, and agreed to change the name of shuangba nianfo hall to Baizhang qiandun temple on January 6, 2010. Qiandun temple, neiliedi hall and other Qing Dynasty buildings were appraised as municipal cultural relics protection buildings after the historical research by the cultural relics department.
