Luya waterfall

Luya Waterfall Scenic Spot is located at the foot of Xuanlian peak of Taishi mountain, Songshan Mountain, 6 km northeast of Dengfeng City. It is said that Lu Hongyi was granted the title of Jianyi doctor in the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, but he didn't want to be an official, so he came to live in seclusion in Songshan Mountain, and set up an altar to give lectures. Later generations called this cliff "Luya" and the place where Lu Hongyi lived in seclusion was "Caotang". After his death, Xuanzong changed "thatched cottage" to "Luya Temple".

In the gorge to the north of Luya temple, there is a spring that flows all the year round. Usually, the spring flows down the cliff, like a curtain of pearls hanging high in the sky. In the Ming Dynasty, Yuan Hongdao engraved "molang stone" on it. On the water, it looks like molang. This scene is called "Luya waterfall, Mo Lang Liu" or "Pearl rolling curtain".

During the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, Lu Hongyi, who was granted the title of admonishment doctor, didn't want to be an official. He came here to live in seclusion to recruit talents from all over the world and give lectures here. Therefore, he called this cliff "Luya" and the place where Lu Hongyi lived in seclusion was called "Caotang".

After Lu Hongyi died, Tang Xuanzong changed "thatched cottage" to "Luya Temple". In the North Canyon of Luya, there is a spring which flows all the year round. At ordinary times, the spring flows down from the cliff like a curtain of water hanging in the sky. The surging sound is like the roar of tigers and leopards, like the roar of thunder. The sun shines directly on it. Its light is brilliant, dazzling, and changeable. In the Ming Dynasty, Yuan Hongdao engraved three characters "molangshi" on the black stone. On the water, it looks like ink wave. This scene is called "ink wave flow of Luya waterfall", also known as "Pearl rolling curtain". It is one of the eight ancient sceneries in Dengfeng.

Main attractions

In Luya Waterfall Scenic Area, the cliffs are steep, the rocks stand in a forest, the flowers and plants are flourishing, the spring water falls from the cliff step by step, the water gathers to form a pool, the waves are sparkling, and the shapes are different, which looks like a fairyland and a paradise in the world. The main landscapes are Luya temple, Shitan jiugu, Luya waterfall, a line of sky, etc. Between Xuanlian peak and Jiming peak at the back of the temple, there is a spring flowing through it. The water flows from the cliff all the year round. It is as spectacular as clouds and fog. In summer and autumn, torrents burst out and torrents go down. The roaring sound is like the roar of tiger and leopard, and the roar of thunder. If you stand under the stone nunnery in the waterfall to view the waterfall, it will be colorful, bright and colorful. The water color, mountain color, green forest and waterfall will combine to create a beautiful picture, colorful natural scenery.

Coach:

Take the bus from Zhengzhou to Dengfeng, then take bus No.2 in the urban area to Hancun, the terminal, and take a taxi to the scenic spot.

Starting from Zhengzhou, you can go directly to Dengfeng along Zhengzhou Shaoguan expressway or yu03 line.
