Bao Zheng Memorial Temple

Baogong ancestral hall is composed of the main hall, the second hall, the East and west side hall, the half wall corridor and the stele Pavilion. The style is simple and solemn. On the east side is lingshiyuan, which is composed of stone carvings and waterside pavilions, elegant and chic. In the temple, there are bronze statues of Baogong, bronze guillotine of dragon, tiger and dog, wax statues of Baogong, inscription stele of Kaifeng Prefecture, official history of Baogong, poems of Baogong's official career, inscription stele of Kaifeng Prefecture, family precepts of Baogong, handwriting of Baogong, epitaph and other cultural relics.

Bao Zheng Memorial Temple

Baogong ancestral temple is rebuilt to commemorate Bao Zheng, a famous upright official and political reformer in ancient China. It is located on the West Bank of Baogong Lake in Kaifeng City, Henan Province. It is one of the important scenic spots in the Central Plains tourist area developed and constructed by the National Tourism Administration.

In February 2020, in honor of medical workers, the scenic spot will be open to medical workers from the end of the epidemic to December 31, 2020. All medical workers in China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) can enter the park free of charge with valid certificates to open a green channel for medical workers.

History of scenic spots

According to historical records, the Baogong temple in Kaifeng was built in the Jin and Yuan Dynasties and was repaired in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has a history of nearly a thousand years. Due to the flood of the Yellow River, it has been destroyed and built many times.

In 1984, the Baogong temple was rebuilt on Baogong Lake in Kaifeng City.

In 2003, Baogong temple was officially rated as the first batch of national AAAA scenic spots by the National Tourism Administration.

The main hall is the official part of history. In the center, there is a sitting statue of Baogong, more than 3 meters high, with a boa robe and jade belt. Sitting on a back chair, it is as strong as pine, dignified and dignified. There are historical relics on both sides of the statue, including bowls, lamps, wooden figurines and inkstones unearthed from the tomb. The gables are inlaid with painted pottery frescoes reflecting the achievements of Bao Gong, and the frescoes have dragon and phoenix patterns on the edge, showing the spirit and dignity of Bao Gong.

Second Hall

In the second hall, there is a rubbings of Baogong's stone carvings. The lines are clear and vivid, which vividly represent Baogong's style. What's more touching is a family motto left by the Duke of Bao: "if there are officials of later generations who have committed illegal activities, they should not be released to their families; if they die, they should not be buried in the tombs. If you do not follow my will, you are not my descendants. " It fully reflects the noble moral character of Bao Gong, who is pure hearted, honest and upright, and the selfless spirit of hating evil as hatred and hating corrupt officials. In the center of the second hall stands a stone tablet named Kaifeng mansion, which is a relic of the Northern Song Dynasty. On it are engraved the names and dates of 183 Kaifeng government officials in the Northern Song Dynasty. Only a deep finger mark appeared in the name of Bao Gong. This is the finger mark worn out by people for their respect and love for Bao Gong and for their fingering when they watch the inscriptions. It is a demonstration that Bao Gong is respected by people. Wang Yun, a poet of the Yuan Dynasty, wrote a poem praising Japan: "wipe away the remnant stele and see Dehui, and you can see the remains of BaoFan for thousands of years. They are afraid of frost, and dare not inhabit. " The poem praises Bao Gong and Fan Zhongyan for their glorious virtue and prestige, and compares the corrupt officials to the abominable crows. Even after thousands of years, seeing their steles is like seeing two gongs, they are still terrified and dare not stay near. It can be seen that "Bao Qingtian" deserves its reputation.

East west side hall

The East and west side halls display the legends and anecdotes, historical stories and beautiful legends of Baogong in the form of pictures and texts, such as "Baogong throwing inkstone", "Chenzhou releasing grain", "nuda luanjia", "Zhiji king of Zhao" and so on. The three majestic copper guillotines in the east side hall are vivid, open mouth and angry eyes, showing the great power of Bao Gong in fighting against the tyranny and pacifying the good. The group statue of "Lord Bao cutting King Zhao" is the image embodiment of the spirit that Lord Bao is not afraid of the powerful and adheres to the law like a mountain. In particular, the group wax statue of the East Hall, qimeian, is as vivid as a life size one, with bright colors, complete form and spirit, and no hair.

Lian Quan

Lianquan, located in the east of Baogong temple, is a well in Huating. The edge of the well is dark brown bluestone, and the inner side of the stone wall is lined with deep lines. It is said that Lianquan has a special magical place, that is, it will produce different tastes for different people. Ordinary people will quench their thirst if they drink it; honest officials drink it, it's refreshing and delicious, sweet and mellow; but if corrupt officials drink it, it must be bitter, wet and hard to swallow, like thorns blocking the throat, and there is no medicine to cure the headache on the spot. The only way to relieve the pain is to drink a bowl of dog urine.

Lack of inscription stele

It is said that the birds in the courtyard walk around the cypress trees, but they never stay on the monument. Some people say that the birds dare not stay here because they think of Bao Zheng's majesty.

Festival activities

Walking on stilts is a good skill of Kaifeng folk artists. From ancient times to the present, every major festival, especially from the Spring Festival to the Lantern Festival every year, folk artists have taken to the streets to walk on stilts.
