Pingyinlu memorial hall is the place where Weng Tonghe lived in his later years.

Weng Tonghe, a native of Changshu, Jiangsu Province, is a famous patriotic politician in modern China. A brief introduction to Weng Tonghe's family

The second entrance hall of pingyinlu memorial hall was built in 1873 by Weng Tonghe and his elder brother Weng tongjue. It was originally used as a house to guard the ancestral tomb, and later was used by Weng's descendants to offer sacrifices to their ancestors. Hanging in the middle hall is the court robe of Weng Tonghe's father Weng. On the right hand side is a brief diagram of Weng's lineage. Weng's family started when his grandfather Weng Xianfeng was appointed as Xuezheng of Haizhou, which is equivalent to the director of Lianyungang Education Bureau. His son Weng Xincun, Weng Tonghe's father, had the highest official position in the Weng's family. He served as the Minister of punishment, work, official and household. At that time, there were six departments in the Qing Dynasty, and he was the highest officer of four departments. Later, he became a Bachelor of Ti renge, zhengyipin, and he was also a senior official in his later years Weng Xincun was the teacher of Tongzhi emperor. He had four sons and two daughters. His eldest son Weng Tongshu was the governor of Anhui. His third son Weng tongjue was the governor of Huguang. His eldest daughter Duan en, his second daughter Shouzhu and his second son Yinbao died at the age of four. Among them, his fourth son Weng Tonghe was the most famous.

Weng Tonghe's study

Weng Tonghe's study is rich in Ganoderma lucidum, including Ganoderma lucidum, Ganoderma lucidum, and Yuzhi in the three peaks of Baoyan in Changshu. The mountain stream of Xingfu temple is rich in white turtles. Weng Tonghe once got these two treasures, so he named his study "room of white turtles in Zizhi". Sitting at the desk is Weng Tonghe's silica gel appearance. He has a calm look, deep eyes and vivid life. "Juejing"

There is a door on the left side outside the study. There is a well outside the door, which is called "juejing". It is said that this well was used by Weng Tonghe to prevent Empress Dowager Cixi from injuring himself. Later, his nephew Yu zhongluan quoted the sentence "Jingjue does not eat, it is my heart's pity" in the book of changes, believing that the name of juejing was slandering the imperial court, so Weng Tonghe ordered people to sink the well into the bottom of Shanghu Lake overnight.

There is a square stone slab, called Koushi. On the death day of emperor Tongzhi and the birthday of Emperor Guangxu, Weng Tonghe would kneel down and kowtow to the north to show his loyalty and patriotism.

It is a corridor of steles. The corridor shows Weng Tonghe's painting and calligraphy fans and Yushan sketching sketches. It also further emphasizes Weng Tonghe's feelings of painting and calligraphy during his stay in the mountain.

Weng-tung-ho

At the end of the corridor is the layout exhibition hall of pingyinlu Memorial Hall. The exhibition hall introduces that since July 1898, Weng Tonghe had been persecuted by the diehards for advocating the reform and reform, and had been removed from his native place or even dismissed from his post. When he retired from the mountains and was in adversity, he was still concerned about the safety of the country and the nation. His praises and deeds of worrying about the state affairs, caring about the people's livelihood and benefiting Sangzi have won the eternal admiration and memory of future generations.
