The memorial hall of the former site of the general headquarters of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army was designed and made by Chongqing Hongyan united line in 2005. The museum is located in the center of the Red Army city. General secretaries Jiang Zemin and Hu Yaobang inscribed the name of the museum. The overall architectural design of the museum has the characteristics of simple and elegant architecture of Ming and Qing Dynasties and Bashu garden architecture, which constitute the main part of the memorial.

In December 2016, the memorial hall of the former site of the general headquarters of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army was listed in the list of national Red Tourism classic scenic spots.

The building area of the museum is 784 square meters. The whole building is simple, elegant and magnificent. The former site of the General Political Department of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army is located in the Xuegong of Tongjiang County, which is closely connected with the former site of the general headquarters of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army. The former Xuegong and Tongjiang Confucian Temple (the former site of the general headquarters) were built at the same time. After many repairs, they were all of wooden structure. Once they entered the four courtyards, they were well preserved. In January 1988, they were announced by the State Council as national key cultural relics protection units.

Historical evolution

In 1982, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Red Army's entry into Sichuan, it was divided into the military history exhibition hall of Sichuan Shaanxi revolutionary base. The name of the museum was inscribed by General Secretary Hu Yaobang. In January 1988, it was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relics protection unit, and now it is the memorial hall of the former site of the general headquarters of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army. General Secretary Jiang Zemin inscribed the logo of the hall. In January 1989, it was renamed "exhibition hall of the former site of the general headquarters of the Fourth Red Army" with the approval of Sichuan Provincial Department of culture. In October 1992, it was renamed "Memorial Hall of the former site of the general headquarters of the Fourth Red Army" with the approval of the propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee. In February 1993, Jiang Zemin, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the state and chairman of the Central Military Commission, inscribed the name of the museum. In October 1995, the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Sichuan Provincial People's government named the provincial patriotic education base. In June 2001, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee named the national patriotic education demonstration base. In 2005, it was listed as one of the "100 classic scenic spots of" red tourism "and" 30 excellent routes of "red tourism" in China.
