Alsophila spinulosa Valley

The World Geopark, Alsophila spinulosa Valley Park, is located in the "Alsophila spinulosa nature reserve" of Jinhua Township, 48 kilometers southwest of Rong County, Zigong City, Sichuan Province, and close to Qianwei County, Leshan City, covering an area of 10 square kilometers. It is a huge funnel-shaped deep valley formed by ancient orogeny.

In 2008, Alsophila spinulosa Valley officially joined the World Geopark network as a part of Qinglongshan dinosaur fossil group Heritage Park in Rongxian County of Zigong World Geopark, becoming a world-class park.

After reconstruction in 2016, the first phase of the project has been completed and officially opened to the outside world.

There are four scenic spots in the Alsophila Valley: sifangjing, Alsophila lake, Yinpanshan and laoshengou. It integrates Alsophila spinulosa, natural waterfall, lake, stalactite, fern and primitive jungle. It has the beauty of "dinosaur granary in the past" and "Alsophila oxygen bar" today

Reputation. It's like a natural plant paradise. What is remarkable is that more than 20000 Alsophila spinulosa plants have been developed in the valley, which ranks the top of the eight first-class protected plants in the country. Alsophila spinulosa is a very rare plant, which is the main food of ancient dinosaurs. Its appearance is about 300 million years ago, 150 million years earlier than the appearance of dinosaurs. Cyathela spinulosa is also known as "living fossil". Alsophila spinulosa distributed in Alsophila Valley is the most dense, tall and spectacular area in China. There are more than 16000 Alsophila spinulosa trees in Jinhua "Alsophila Valley". The Alsophila spinulosa trees grow in the valley in strips. The plants are generally 2 to 3 meters high, and the highest is 6 to 7 meters. The shape of Alsophila spinulosa is beautiful, and its leaves are like the tail of a Phoenix. Some of them grow alone, and some two or three grow together, with luxuriant branches and leaves, blocking the sky and the sun, forming a magnificent landscape.

World Geopark

Zigong World Geopark is located in Zigong City, a famous historical and cultural city in the south of Sichuan Province. It is a Geopark with the reputation of "Millennium salt city, hometown of dinosaurs, and nanguodeng city". It is the Second World Geopark in Sichuan Province and the 20th World Geopark in China. The Geopark is composed of Dashanpu dinosaur fossil group Heritage Park, Rongxian Qinglongshan dinosaur fossil group Heritage Park and Zigong Salt Science and Technology Park, with a total area of 56.6 km. Geographical coordinates: 104 ° 06 ′ 00 ″ - 104 ° 50 ′ 29 ″ e, 29 ° 14 ′ 35 ″ - 29 ° 26 ′ 20 ″ n. It is a world-class Geopark with dinosaur fossil remains, well salt mining and production sites, and Alsophila spinulosa community as the main protection objects.

Geoparks were approved as the first batch of national geoparks by the Ministry of land and resources of the people's Republic of China in 2001, and the establishment of world geoparks was approved by UNESCO in February 2008.

Rongxian Giant Buddha Scenic Spot

0.5km to the east of Rongxian City, there is the second largest Buddha in the country, Rongxian Buddha. On the hillside of the Great Buddha Temple, there is a towering stone statue of Buddha sitting on Buddha, which is known as Rongxian Buddha. It is 36.67 meters in height, 8.76 meters in head length, 12.67 meters in shoulder width, 12 meters in knee height, 3.5 meters in foot width, 8.76 meters in head length, 12.67 meters in shoulder width and 3.5 meters in foot width. It is a Buddha statue, second only to Maitreya Buddha in Leshan, and the second largest stone Buddha in China.

Shuangxi Lake Scenic Spot

Shuangxi Lake scenic spot is located 1.5 kilometers north of Rong County. It is named because it is located at the intersection of Dongchuan and Shoushui rivers. Shuangxi lake is an artificial lake with comprehensive benefits of agricultural irrigation, urban water supply, flood control, tourism, power generation and breeding. The area of rainwater collection in the lake area is 80.25 square kilometers, and the land acquisition area is 5195.75 mu (including 788.78 mu for the project, 3504.03 mu for the submerged land, 902.94 mu for the management and protection, etc.), with a total storage capacity of 58 million cubic meters and a profit-making storage capacity of 43.8 million cubic meters; the irrigation area is controlled to be 216 thousand mu, and the annual urban water supply is 5-20 million cubic meters. The completion of the reservoir can improve the flood control capacity of Rongcheng county from the standard of once in five years to once in 20 years.

Gaoshiti Forest Park

Gaoshiti Forest Park, Tiechang Town, Rong County, Zigong City, Sichuan Province, with a total area of 182.13 hectares, was approved as a provincial forest park by the provincial forestry department in 1993. The park has a special landform, with boulders, strange peaks, valleys and streams forming a typical natural landscape of low mountain landform in southern Sichuan. As early as the 33rd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, Gaoshiti scenic spot was regarded as one of the four summer resorts for foreigners in Sichuan by the West China Diocese of the Christian Church.

Hualonggou Bamboo Sea Scenic Spot

Hualonggou bamboo sea is located in Baxing village, Changshan Town, Rong County, Zigong City, Sichuan Province, bounded by bamao village, Tiechang town in the north, Gaoshiti Forest Park in the West and Shuanglong reservoir in the East. From Rongzhu road to the west of Rongzhu County, to Wutong farm and along the small road to the north, you can enjoy the beauty of rural scenery with beautiful sunshine, birds singing, flowers fragrant and green eyes. Before you know it, you come to the dam of Shuanglong reservoir. Walking along the reservoir, its tail water is connected with the lush Hualonggou bamboo sea.

Baiyun temple

Baiyun temple, also known as guapiao mountain, is the watershed between Minjiang River and Tuojiang River, with an altitude of 745 meters. It is close to g348 National Highway (former provincial highway s305) and faces Zhenwu mountain from afar. There are eleven peaks in guapiao mountain, which are located in Foshan. It is said that there is a cave on the mountain, which is miles long and looks like a gourd ladle. This cave is called gourd ladle cave, because this mountain is called gourd ladle mountain. There are 20 complete Buddha statues in the cave. On the first and the fifteenth day of the lunar new year, local believers go to the cave to make pilgrimages, burn incense and paper, and pay homage to them. Behind the mountain, plumes of green smoke come out and fill the mountain like a fairyland. It's true that the spirit is interlinked, people have sincerity, Buddha has induction.

Awakening Temple

Xingwu temple is located in Zhenwu mountain in group 8 of Desheng village, Changshan Town, Rong County, Zigong City, Sichuan Province. It is named after the statue of Zhenwu founder of Taoism. Although the mountain is only tens of meters high and the area is only tens of mu, it is a bit majestic because it is located on the open Wutong dam. Zhenwu mountain is about 26 kilometers away from the county seat, and Rongzhu road passes through it, with convenient transportation. There is a temple built on the mountain, named Xingwu temple. It is a religious activity place registered by the minzong Office of the county government. The abbot of the temple is called Kejie.

Luocheng ancient town

Luocheng ancient town is located in the northeast of Qianwei County, Leshan City, 60 kilometers away from Leshan City. Liangting street, the main street of the ancient town, is commonly known as "boat shaped Street". It was built in 1628, the first year of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty. Up to now, the surviving old street still retains some of the cultural features of Sichuan in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Ancient town, built in the late Ming Dynasty Chongzhen years (AD 1628), formed in the Qing Dynasty. Luocheng ancient town is located in the border area and used to be an important military place. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was the "military shop" for stationing troops to control foreigners (southwest minorities), so it is called "luochengpu". Yingpanshan in the west of the town was the place of stationing troops at that time.

Traffic information

Rongxian county has direct access to the park road, near the national highway g348 (the original provincial highway s305), and there is a fixed bus in Rongxian county.

For self driving tour, it is recommended to take Lezi expressway, get off at the exit of Rongxian West (Dujia town) or Changshan Town, and then turn to the direct highway.
