Meiyuan is located in the eastern suburb of Taizhou City, with a beautiful legend of Fenghuang pier. There are "four wonders" in Meilanfang park. Mei Lanfang

Mei Lanfang (1894-1961), a master of Peking Opera, lived in Taizhou. His artistic achievements have long transcended national boundaries, and are as famous as the world's art masters Stanislavsky (Su) and Brecht (DE), which are collectively known as the world's three major performance systems. During the war of resistance against Japan, his national patriotism was admired by people at home and abroad. It has formed its own artistic style and is known as "Mei school" in the world. The representative operas of Beijing Opera include "drunken Princess" and "Farewell My Concubine"; the representative operas of Kunqu Opera include "yearning for the world" and "a dream in the garden". His thesis is compiled as Mei Lanfang's anthology, and his plays are compiled as Mei Lanfang's selected plays. The successors of Mei school include Li Shifang, Zhang Junqiu, Yan Huizhu, Du JinFang and Mei Baojiu. Another film of the same name is Mei Lanfang.

Good at roles

Mei Lanfang is good at performing "Dan" in Peking Opera. In Peking Opera, women are collectively referred to as "Dan", which can be subdivided into many professions according to the age and personality of the characters. The role of a lady and a woman with status is called "Zhengdan". Zhengdan is commonly known as "Qingyi" in Peking Opera. This is because the role played by Zhengdan often wears a long blue shirt. The heroine Dou'e in the Peking Opera "Dou'e yuan" is a typical role in Qingyi. Qingyi's performance is solemn and quiet, elegant and gentle, mainly singing. Generally speaking, Qingyi's singing melody is beautiful, delicate and tactful.

In 1984, on the occasion of Mei Lanfang's 90th birthday, Mei Lanfang Park (hereinafter referred to as "Mei Yuan") was built.

During his stay in Thailand, this famous master of art at home and abroad visited the former residence of his ancestors four generations ago, in baoba village, where Meiyuan is now located.

Plum garden is located in the eastern suburb of the city, with a beautiful legend of the Phoenix pier. This Phoenix pier, surrounded by water on three sides and surrounded by jungle, is also suitable for the characteristics of Chinese garden construction.

When you enter Meiyuan, along the stone path, you can first visit Meilanfang historical materials exhibition hall, which displays a large number of photos and objects of the master's activities during his lifetime. In front of the museum is a semicircular square, and a plaque inscribed by former president Li Xiannian is hung under the front eaves of the hall. Many buildings in the museum were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Through the north gate of the historical materials Museum, the fragrance of plum blossoms is much stronger. The more you go to the park, the more elegant and pure fragrance you will find. Deliberately take a breath to smell, but can not smell, do not smell when it is full of nose, all of a sudden qintouxinfei. It turns out that there are countless plum trees planted here. Although the most urgent moment had passed, the plum fragrance in the air could not disperse for a moment.

The plum Pavilion in the northwest corner is very attractive. The plane of the pavilion is in the shape of a quincunx, and the eaves, pillars and sills are all in the shape of a plum. Under the eaves, on the inner side of the Fangzi, there are five representative woodcarving drama scenes, such as the master's drunken concubine.

On the east side of the pavilion, a white sitting statue of master hanbaiyu is particularly energetic against the backdrop of spring. The plaque and white jade statue of the pavilion are inscribed and created by Zhao Puchu and Liu Kaiqu respectively. Some Peking Opera lovers often come here to sing. Singing Beijing Opera in front of a master is as enjoyable as it can be.

Meiyuan was renovated in 2007. The reconstructed exhibition area is divided into five major exhibition areas: "Meikai Zhonghua", "Meixiang Sihai", "Meigu Zhengzheng", "Meide Ruyu" and "Meigen Taizhou". The five exhibition areas condensed and refined Mei Lanfang's glorious life which belongs to China, the world and Taizhou, reflecting his noble personality and patriotic feelings as well as his blood ties with Taizhou.
