Xianren sun boots is one of the strange stones in the west sea of Huangshan scenic spot. It is located near the left side of paiyun Pavilion. There is a stone like a boot buckled on the Xiaofeng platform, which seems to be drying in the air.

brief introduction

Immortal sun shoes are located on the left side of the valley in front of Xihai cloud Pavilion, the source of xihaigou; there are strange stones, such as half a barrel of high leather shoes, upside down on the stone platform of the cliff at the peak waist, which seems to be drying, so it is named.

Geological origin

Xianren shaikiao scenic spot is located in the medium fine grained porphyry granite intruded in the supplementary period of Huangshan rock mass. The rock fractures and joints are developed. The xihaigou is a fault developed from 110 °～ 80 ° occurrence. There are mainly two groups of joints, in addition to the vertical joints parallel to the fault, there is also a group of 225 °∠ 15 ° near horizontal joints. Due to the combined action of the two groups of joints and the influence of freezing weathering and gravity collapse, the original opening in the upper part of the vertical joint is continuously enlarged and cracked, and the granite is cut into many square, rectangular and columnar blocks;

Beautiful legend

Once upon a time, there lived Taoist daoxuan and apprentice Taiqing in Xiandu temple on the left several peaks of Huangshan Mountain; there lived Taoist Lian Yu and apprentice Miaozhen in Zixia Palace on Songlin peak. There is a gap between the two Taoist palaces Xihai gorge. In addition to the strict Taoist regulations, they do not communicate with each other.

Mount Huangshan

One winter, there was heavy snow in the mountain, and the fire was cut off in Xiandu temple. Daoxuan had to ask Taiqing to borrow the fire from Zixia palace. When Taiqing came to Zixia palace, he saw Miaozhen. They met at first sight and talked very intimately. Since then, they have been gathering firewood and carrying water every day, and then they have a heart to heart talk. Gradually, less firewood is cut and less water is carried. In this way, the master of both sides soon finds out the matter, and both of them are severely reprimanded by the master. It is also stipulated that in the future, when firewood is to be collected and water is to be carried, the gullies and streams at the junction of the two peaks should be taken as the boundary. If they cross the boundary, they will be killed with the Dao whip and the divine staff. After that, it was very difficult for them to talk together.

Once, when the masters of both sides went down the mountain, they secretly met and agreed on the future: Taiqing drying a boot in front of the mountain gate means that master went down the mountain and Miaozhen would see Taiqing; Miaozhen drying a pair of shoes in front of the palace means that master went out and Taiqing would see Miaozhen. From then on, the two of them had a tryst by drying their boots and shoes.

One day, they were having a sweet tryst. Unexpectedly, the master of both sides suddenly came back, and the matter came to light. They would be severely punished. They thought and thought, and finally made up their minds: "life can't be together, just die together!" Two people join hands, jump from the overhanging rock, jump into the sea of white fog. Taiqing sun drying boots and Miaozhen sun drying shoes did not have time to collect. After a long time, they have become stone boots and stone shoes, which are now Huangshan's "immortal sun drying boots" and "immortal sun drying shoes".
