Taoshan reservoir is located in Taoshan District, Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. It is a large reservoir mainly for flood control, urban water supply and comprehensive utilization of farmland irrigation and aquaculture. Taoshan reservoir, known as the "Little West Lake" of Qitaihe City, is adjacent to the center of Qitaihe City. It is one of the only reservoirs in Heilongjiang Province and even in the whole country. It is also one of the best places for Qitaihe people and foreign tourists to have leisure and sightseeing.

The first phase project of the reservoir was completed in August 1990.
