Laodaodong is located in baicaopan natural scenic spot, 945 meters above sea level. It is the most developed karst cave in Beijing. Because of some magical legends of Laodao cave, it is well-known far and near. Some people often visit here, so it becomes one of the eight sceneries at the foot of the mountain - Shendong fairy road.

The cave is developed in the Paleozoic Cambrian argillaceous banded limestone, and the surrounding walls are limestone. The cave is developed along a fault fissure. The main cave forming mechanism is caused by natural causes such as fracture, dissolution and collapse. Therefore, there are more collapse gravel in the cave, because the limestone that makes up the cave contains more mud and sand, with poor solubility, less chemical dissolution and accumulation landscape in the cave, and less stalactites and stalagmites. The length of the whole cave is about 1500-2000 meters. Because of the monotonous landscape, the second half of the cave is temporarily closed, and the lower landscape is better, which needs further exploration.

It is said that Lao Dao Li lived mysteriously in this cave for a month without eating or drinking, and his corpse was still like a living person for several years. After more than 20 years, the corpse was intact. This is really a mysterious place, and it is attractive to many people. Therefore, this hole has received a lot of attention. People from the Chinese Taoist Association have come here for an investigation. There is a Qigong society in Beijing. After an investigation, the person in charge thinks that the qigong field of laodaodong is very strong, which is obviously different from other places. Some religious believers and Taoist disciples visit from time to time to do some sacrificial activities. Some experts and scholars are also very interested in this. They think that under the climatic conditions in eastern China, mummies can be formed and remain incorruptible for many years, which indicates that the environmental conditions in the cave are special and should be studied to uncover this secret.
