Yuanmouren exhibition hall
Yuanmou people exhibition hall is located in Longchuan street of Yuanmou County, 7 kilometers away from Yuanmou County. Covering an area of 4000 square meters, the project was started in 1985 and completed in 1987. Yuanmouren, a new subspecies of Homo erectus, has a history of 1.7 million years. It was discovered by the southwest neotectonic research group of Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences in May 1965.
Exhibition hall display
The exhibition hall of the exhibition hall introduces the tooth fossils of Yuanmou people, reveals the brief history of the origin and development of human beings, and systematically shows the evolutionary links of primitive human beings. Yuanmou Man is at least 1.7 million years old. It is the earliest human found in China and Asia. Due to the discovery of Yuanmou Man and Lufeng ape, Chuxiong is known as "the cradle of human in Asia".
Traffic tips
You can take the shuttle bus from Xiyuan bus station in Kunming to Yuanmou, with a ticket of 25 yuan, a 7-hour drive; you can also take the shuttle bus from Chuxiong bus station, with a ticket price of 15 yuan, about 140 km, a 4-hour drive. After arriving at Yuanmou County, walk.
