Longdongwan park is an open park built here by the northeast coast "national" Scenic Area Management Office, with complete footpath, geological classroom, exhibition room and parking lot. It is an excellent place to know the geological beauty of the northeast corner. In summer, it is a good choice to play with the sea water swimming pool.

brief introduction

Longdong Bay is the largest Bay in the northeast coast. The complex fault topography has created the beautiful and unique geological landscape of Longdong Bay and its vicinity. Longdongwan park has a complete trail, geological classroom, exhibition room and parking lot, which is an excellent place to know the geological beauty of the northeast corner; the changeable geological landscape is a major resource of longdongwan. The rock strata here rise from the sea floor due to plate action, and then undergo long-term weathering, resulting in sea erosion platforms, trace fossils, small terraces, sea erosion cliffs, sea erosion gullies and other terrain. After the tide ebbs, the sea erosion platform beside the park is like a natural trail from Keke to bitoujiao Park. Along the way, all kinds of special coastal terrain are listed, like an open book of the earth. There is an open geological classroom at the starting point of the trail, which explains the causes of various sea erosion landforms with pictures and words. Visitors can preview here before starting the field survey.

Located at the tip of Longdong cape on the south side of the park, it is Taiwan's leading Longdong rock field. The rock wall of the 1 km long coast is composed of hard white sandstone. Under the long-term attack of wind and waves, it forms steep cliffs with heights ranging from 30 meters to 100 meters. For rock climbers, it is a good place to show their skills. From the path beside Longdong elementary school, you can enter the rock field and climb on the high rock wall. You can see the beautiful scenery of the sea and sky. The clear sea water of Longdong Bay sets off in front of the mountain ridge at the nose corner in the distance. The scenery is very pleasant. At the foot, all kinds of sea erosion terrain are listed, which can be called the unique scenery of the northeast coast. The bottom of Longdong Bay is also rich in coral reef ecology. Among them, the chameleon Bird Carving is the most popular and the most eye-catching. In addition, there are stepped sea erosion platforms in the Bay, so it has become an ideal diving spot for divers. Deep diving and snorkeling are very suitable. Because of the rich fish resources, it is also a place where fishing experts gather.
