Daxueshan forest recreation area is located in Heping District, Taichung City, covering warm, warm and cold virgin forests. It is the best place for summer, range rover, bird watching and snow watching.

It is over 2000 meters above sea level and covers an area of 1104 hectares. The whole area includes shaolai mountain, Chuanxing mountain, Anma mountain, Xiaoxue mountain, moderate snow mountain and heavy snow mountain, with green hills and dense forests. The temperature here is 18 ℃ in hot summer and below - 5 ℃ in severe winter. It is a unique mountain recreation area and is favored by nature lovers and mountaineers.

The natural landscape includes snow mountain Shenmu, xiaoxueshan Tianchi, primeval forest, etc. in addition, there are forest bath trail in Anma mountain, mountaineering trail in shaolai mountain, xiaoxueshan mountain, zhongxueshan mountain, Daxueshan mountain, etc., as well as flower and tree viewing area, shipshape mountain nursery, alpine botanical garden, youth field activity area, campsite, etc. Daxueshan forest recreation area is located in Heping District, Taichung City, covering warm, warm and cold virgin forests. Main attractions

Forest bath trail

It is a unique cypress forest area, accessible from the tourist center at 46km of 200 forest road. This trail leads to xiaoshenmu.

Heaven Pool

It is the end of the park, with an altitude of 2600 meters and an area of 0.4 hectares. It is a high mountain lake. When the cold current comes in winter, you can enjoy the snow, and the Ruixue Pavilion beside the pool can enjoy the sea of clouds.

Shenmu in snow mountain

The tree species of Shenmu in Xueshan mountain is red cypress. Its age is 1400 years, which is equivalent to that of Wei, Jin and southern and Northern Dynasties in China. There are public toilets and chronological steles near Shenmu. A constellation guide board is set up at 49 km from 200 Lam Road.

Yakou viewing platform

Yakou is located 48 km away from 200 Lam Road. It is about 0.5 km from the parking lot to Yakou landscape platform. The view platform is a three story building with a broad view from the roof, overlooking the snow mountain peaks. However, there is often heavy fog in the afternoon in mountainous areas, and the best viewing time is at noon.

A little bit of mountain lookout

Shaolaishan lookout tower is 2320 meters high. In the early days, it was used to monitor forest fires. Now it is open to tourists. It's a great place to enjoy the peak in autumn.

National hiking trail

Iris - a little bit - xiaoxueshan

The trail starts at Hengling mountain tunnel 27km away from 200 forest road and ends at Xiaoxue villa 50km away from 200 forest road.

230 forest road

The starting point of this forest road is Xiaoxue villa, 50 km from Daxueshan forest road, with a total length of 65 km. It is the only way to climb the peaks of Daxueshan mountain. However, there are many landslides after the earthquake. At present, they are in a closed state. Please do not rush there.

Tourism information

Driving: get off the expressway from Fengyuan interchange Road, follow Provincial Road No. 3 to Dongshi, and then follow Lin Road No. 200 to Anma villa, the center of the destination, about 43 km.

Hitchhike: take Fengyuan passenger transport from Fengyuan to Dongshi, Taichung, or Taiqi from Taibei west station to Dongshi. After arriving at Dongshi, take Dongshi old street or special No.1 road to the management office, and then drive by yourself or transfer to the timber truck to Daxueshan forest recreation area.
