Fairy waterfall refers to the fairy pool in maopu, Taiping City.

Xiannv waterfall is the confluence of maopukeng stream, a tributary of toubian stream, and another small tributary. There are many kinds of ferns, such as Formosan Saussurea and Yajiang fern. In winter, there will be beautiful oilseed grass in full bloom. The bright purple red flowers dot the stream. It is dazzling as if it has entered a paradise. Taiwan purple thrush, lead water thrush and Kingfisher are frequent visitors here .

There is a fairy waterfall on the upstream of fairy pool, which looks like a fairy in a feather coat. If you want to find out, you need to climb up the stream for about 10 minutes after you get down to the valley, and you need to step on the boulders all the way up.

Traffic information

Hitchhike: you can take Fengyuan passenger bus to maopu, get off at maopu and go to the fairy climbing trail beside Tianyuan Maitreya Temple.

Automobile: go down Taichung Hong Kong interchange Road, connect 136 County Road at Zhenxing road in Taichung City, transfer to industrial road at toubiankeng, and arrive at neimaopu via waimaopu (about 18 km from interchange Road).

Geographical culture

There is a fairy waterfall in the upper reaches of fairy pool, with a drop of about 5 meters. The waterfall is formed by two streams, one on the upper reaches of maopukeng stream, the other on the upper reaches of toubiankeng stream. The water keeps flowing all the year round. As the water quality is clear, the ecology of the stream is rich and it is a good place to observe the ecology. The natural ecological resources here are very rich. There are pteridophytes such as Taiwan Saussurea and Dryopteris crassifolia. In winter, Youdian grass is in full bloom. Its purple flowers are dotted on the stream side, which is like a beautiful picture. Taiwan purple thrush, lead water thrush and Kingfisher are frequent visitors here.
