Beipu town

The charming local conditions and customs of Beipu, from Jin Guangfu mansion, Tianshui hall to CI Tiangong, all tell the story of the prosperous scenery of Beipu history.

Jin Guangfu residence

Founded in 1835, Jin Guangfu mansion is an office jointly established by Jiang xiuluan and Zhou bangzheng. "Jin" refers to the official and also means auspicious. "Guang" and "Fu" are defined as Guangdong (Guangdong) and Fujian (Fujian). Jin Guangfu residence records the pioneering history of Fujian Hakka ancestors in neishan of Hsinchu. The architecture combines the ancient style of Fujian Hakka architecture with the simple and powerful architectural art of cultivating society. Jin Guangfu residence, together with the "Tianshui hall" nearby, has been listed as a national first-class historic site.

Tianshui Hall

Tianshui hall is the former residence of Jiang xiuluan, the head of reclamation. It is the largest residential building in Beipu settlement. Jiang xiuluan was a great exploiter of Beipu. Because Jiang's junwangtang was named Tianshui County, it was named Tianshui hall. Tianshui hall, with xiuluan mountain as Leshan, is a three courtyard structure. The gate building is shaped like a swallow tail, and the steps have a large table. It is known as one of the most beautiful gate buildings in the whole platform. The courtyard wall is made of washed stones, which is quite different from the style of Chinese style buildings. This wall was built in the Japanese occupation era. The inner wall is paved with stone slabs, while the outer wall is paved with cobbles. The descendants of the Jiang family still live here and are not open to visitors.

Citian Palace

As the center of people's beliefs and public activities, CI Tian palace is the largest and most magnificent temple in tai'ai area. It is also the place for local people's meetings, folk activities, and market space. The development of Beipu's streets is the end point of the main street. The main worship of citian palace is Guanyin Bodhisattva, accompanied by the goddess of heaven, Emperor Wugu Shennong, Emperor Wenchang, King Sanshan, Emperor Sanguan, empress Zhusheng, and God fudezheng. Besides, they are worshipped by Tanshui Tongzhi Li Siye, Jiang xiuluan, and Jiang ronghua. Because of the Joint Worship of the gods, the separation of the ancestral home of the reclamation people in Fujian and Guangdong is weakened.

Beipu cold spring

Beipu cold spring is located in Daping stream, waiping village, Beipu township. It takes about 20 minutes to drive from Beipu to cold spring. Along the way, the hills are green, the stream is clear, the landscape is varied, the dam and waterfall are unique, and the beautiful scenery on both sides of the river bed is beautiful. Beipu cold spring is a kind of weak alkaline carbonated spring, slightly salty. It has curative effect on skin diseases. The water temperature is about 15 degrees in summer and 10 degrees in winter. Soaking here can wash away the dust and make people feel comfortable. Beipu is one of the latest areas to be developed in Hsinchu County. It was not developed until the Qing Dynasty. It started 100 years later. Guangdong people Jiang xiuluan and Fujian people Zhou bangzheng are the most important figures in the development of Beipu. Fighting between Fujian and Guangdong is a common event in the history of Taiwan's development, but Beipu was developed by Fujian and Guangdong people together. The special background of armed immigrants and Hakka color in Beipu form a distinctive settlement culture. Beipu's natural and pollution-free environment, in the early summer of every year when tung oil blossom at the same time, Beipu mountain fireflies will fly all over the sky, at night, the mountains are full of glittering fireflies, the scenery is spectacular, amazing. The species of fireflies in Beipu include Taiwan Mountain window firefly and black winged firefly. The viewing period is only about 15 days. From late April to early May every year, cold spring, Shitou mountain and Wuzhi Mountain in Beipu are good places to enjoy firefly ecology.
