Nanpu Park of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge is located in Xiaguan pagoda bridge, Gulou District, Nanjing city. It was built by Nanjing Urban Construction Bureau in 1970 and completed on March 24, 1971. It is one of the parks opened free of charge by Nanjing Municipal People's government.

Development history

Nanpu Park of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge was built by Nanjing Urban Construction Bureau in 1970 and completed on March 24, 1971.

On September 24, 1971, Nanpu Park was under the leadership of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge Management Office of Shanghai Railway Administration. The greening layout of Nanpu Park was symmetrical with large and central axis, flower beds and fountain pools on both sides. More than 700 cedars and Lagerstroemia indica trees were planted around the park and on both sides of the main road. 1500 trees, such as Platanus acerifolia, Sabina chinensis, juniper and Magnolia grandiflora, were planted on both sides of road 3 to Jinchuan river. The greening coverage rate of the park reached more than 50%, with 1358 trees and shrubs 0 plants, 6528m hedgerow, 25000 potted plants. The large-scale fountain is located on the East and west sides of the central axis of Nanpu park. The flower beds are symmetrically arranged in the south, which is commensurate with the flower beds. The two fountain pools cover an area of 2800 square meters.

In 1989, another 14000 square meters of children's Park was built with traditional amusement facilities and modern electric amusement facilities.

At the end of 1990, 1024 floodlights were installed on the bridge deck to make the park more beautiful.

Osmanthus garden

Osmanthus garden is located in Nanpu park. There are 300 large sweet scented osmanthus tree balls and 900 meters of sweet scented osmanthus hedge.

Philodendron selloum

Ginkgo forest is located in Nanpu park. It consists of 156 Ginkgo biloba.

Riverside scenery belt

The riverside scenery belt is located along the river of Nanpu Park, 500 meters long and 20 meters wide, with cedar, crape myrtle, hibiscus and other flowers and trees.
