Xiaokunshan garden is located in the northwest of Songjiang River, about 10 kilometers away from the urban area, and at the southwest end of Jiufeng. The mountain is 54.3 meters high, 1.5 kilometers around, and the mountain area is about 300 mu.

Xiaokunshan is the hometown of Lu Ji and Lu Yun, the famous writers in the Western Jin Dynasty. Predecessors compared "Erlu" to beautiful jade and praised them with "jade comes out of Kungang". According to Lu Ji's poem, "it's like the water in the valley and the sun in the valley, and it's like the Yin in the Kunshan mountains," the name of Kunshan should be before Ji Yun. Ma'anshan (named Kunshan) is different from Kunshan County in Jiangsu Province, so it is called Xiaokunshan. There are two peaks in South and North. The whole mountain is in the shape of "8", handsome and mellow. It looks like Fu ang and the head of a crouching cow from afar, so it is also called "Niutou mountain". In the shadow of the mountain, there used to be Erlu's former residence. On the mountainside, there are Erlu reading platform, Wantan thatched cottage and Baiju spring. On the top of the mountain, there are Sizhou tower and Sansheng Pavilion. At the foot of the mountain, there are honglingdu, Yangliu bridge, qihuachang, Yuguang Pavilion, yishanlou, Qixian hall, etc. Most of these historic sites have disappeared. Xiaokunshan has a history of more than 5000 years of human civilization. There are two Neolithic ancient cultural sites in Xiaokunshan, which is an important birthplace of Shanghai's history and culture. People call it "Xiaokunshan first, then Songjiang City, and then Shanghai beach". Xiaokunshan has been famous for many generations, and has enjoyed the honor of "jade comes out of Kungang" since ancient times. This is the hometown of Lu Xun, the great general of the Three Kingdoms, Lu Ji and Lu Yun, the literary giants of Jin Dynasty, Xia Yunyi and Xia Wanchun, the heroes of anti Qing Dynasty in the late Ming Dynasty, and Zhou Hanqiong, the wife of Vice Premier Qian Qichen. In ancient times, Xiaokunshan was also one of the famous scenic spots in the south of the Yangtze River. There were hundreds of ancient and famous trees in the mountains alone, surrounded by many temples and churches. It was an area where religious activities were popular.
