Dengfeng History Museum

The Dengfeng Museum of history is a local comprehensive museum built on the basis of Town God's Temple, Dengfeng, covering an area of 5648 square meters. The temple was built in the early Ming Dynasty and rebuilt many times in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Now there are 80 Ming and Qing buildings, such as the mountain gate, the East and West Wing rooms in the front yard, the instrument door, the rolling shed, the main hall, and the East and West Corridor rooms in the back yard. Town God's Temple, Dengfeng, is a large ancient architectural complex with typical architectural styles. On September 25, 2000, it was announced as the third batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units by Henan Provincial People's government.

There are three exhibition areas in the museum

"Dengfeng history exhibition" mainly introduces the historical development and evolution of Dengfeng area from pre Qin to 1949 by using a large number of pictures and text materials; "ancient stone carving art exhibition" displays 141 stone carvings and stone carvings from Han Dynasty to the Republic of China;

In the temporary exhibition area, there are exhibitions such as "Zhongyue Songshan stone carving art (rubbings)", "Dengfeng calligraphy and painting works selection", "Dengfeng collection of modern cultural relics achievement report", "Japanese Invasion Crime" and so on. Dengfeng History Museum, based on the track of Dengfeng's historical development, based on Dengfeng's rich cultural relics, highlights Dengfeng's brilliant history and the essence of its historical relics.

External exhibition

In April 1997, the ancient building complex was handed over to the cultural relics department for management, and Dengfeng cultural relics bureau raised more than 1.6 million yuan for comprehensive protection and maintenance. On August 22, 2000, the Dengfeng history museum was completed and opened to the public.

Collection

There are 5624 cultural relics in the collection, including 3468 historical relics and 2156 modern relics.
