Huangdi Temple

Huangdi temple, formerly known as Jinyun hall, was once one of the three imperial palaces of Huangdi in Xuanyuan, the site of santianzi capital. It was built in the reign of emperor Xianhe (326-334) of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and was one of the centers of ancient Chinese Taoism. The ancestral hall of the Yellow Emperor, located in the southeast and northwest, echoes the mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor in Shaanxi Province, forming a pattern of "northern mausoleum and southern mausoleum". It is the main place in southern China to worship Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor, the ancestor of Chinese culture.

So far, this is the largest Xuanyuan Huangdi historical relics exhibition hall in China. It consists of eight parts. The first part is the foreword, which summarizes the life time and life history of the Yellow Emperor, the evaluation of great people, and displays the cultural relics and documents of the Yellow Emperor period. The second part is the origin and formation of Chinese ancestors. After a long period of separation and division, and national integration and national unity in various periods, what we usually call the Chinese nation came into being.

Many cultural scholars and experts propose to set Xuanyuan Huangdi's birthday and Shangsi festival as "Chinese Christmas", calling on all Chinese people to commemorate Xuanyuan Huangdi on March 3 of the lunar calendar.

The seventh part is Chinese heroes. This paper expounds in detail the spirit of the Chinese nation formed in the long history of Chinese civilization for thousands of years, the emergence of historical and cultural celebrities and their great influence on later generations.

The eighth part is national unity. It reproduces the 5000 years of Territorial Change of the Chinese nation.

The Yellow Emperor's ancestral hall, known as "the first ancestral hall in the world", is the main place in southern China to worship Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor, the ancestor of the Chinese nation.

In order to further promote the extensive and profound Huangdi culture of "the world's first ancestral temple", the grand couplet activity of "the world's first ancestral temple" held in early 2006 received more than 18000 couplets from more than 3500 people from all over the country, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, the United States and other countries and regions.

On the eve of the national day, 114 couplets selected from the couplets will be installed on the columns of the Yellow Emperor's ancestral hall, adding a refined charm to this magnificent building.
