Nanjishan Archipelago

Nanjishan archipelago is located in the southeast of Pingyang County, Zhejiang Province. It is composed of 52 islands with beautiful marine scenery and good ecology. It is the only national marine nature reserve (shellfish and algae) in China and one of the World Biosphere reserves designated by UNESCO. It is 30 nautical miles from the nearest town of Aojiang in the mainland, 70 nautical miles from Wenzhou City and 140 nautical miles from Keelung in Taiwan.

Nanji Archipelago is a resort for tourism, summer vacation, recuperation, seafood and sea water. There are 800 meters wide and 600 meters long Seashell sand beach, with clear and transparent water and visibility of more than 5 meters; guoxing'ao, where Zheng Chenggong trained as a marine; qifengju, where Song Meiling had a rest; Narcissus island and seagull island; sanpanwei tourist spot with more than 100 scenic spots; abalone, which is the first of the eight treasures of the sea; grouper, which is famous, and so on. There are 368 species of fish, 180 species of shrimps and crabs, and hundreds of other terrestrial animals. Jinsha is a beautiful place with blue sea, strange reefs and rocks, different peaks and elegant caves, and natural lawns.

Nanji is the main island of Nanji Archipelago. It looks like a muntjac. Its head faces northwest and its tail faces southeast. It covers an area of 7 square kilometers. Its coastline twists and turns, with a total length of 24.8 kilometers. It is surrounded by five Gajiao (longzuitou) and three bays (guoxing'ao, mazu'ao, huokun'ao) and Nanji harbor. The annual average temperature is 16.5 ℃, the sea water is clear and blue all the year round, and the rocks are eroded and impacted by the waves for a long time, forming sea erosion cliffs, columns, caves, platforms and other landscapes. There are Dashao, guoshengao, sanpanwei, dalishan, Zhuyu and other scenic spots, known as "bihaixianshan".
