Cuona lake is located in Anduo County, Naqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region. Cuona lake is the source of Nujiang River, with an altitude of 4800 meters and an area of 300 square kilometers. It is the highest freshwater lake in the world. Rivers and streams in the south of Tanggula mountains all flow into Cuona lake and into Nujiang River. Cuona lake is a bright pearl on the Qinghai Tibet railway. Like Namtso, it is a lake where believers often come to worship. It is said that it was the bathing place of Queen Mother of the West. In the eyes of the local Tibetan people, Cuona lake is a "God Lake".

What to watch

Every Dragon Year of the Tibetan calendar, thousands of believers will come to Cuona Lake in all directions to worship. The tradition of offering sacrifices to the "holy lake" can be traced back to the Han Dynasty in the Central Plains.

In summer, the green water in Cuona lake is clear and the fish are jumping; in the distance, zhuoge Shenfeng is in a faint posture, and the mountains and rivers are in harmony. It is one of the most famous scenic spots along the andoh and Qinghai Tibet railway.

Located in the hinterland of Qiangtang National Nature Reserve, it is the habitat of a large number of wild animals such as wild yak, Tibetan wild donkey, Tibetan antelope, yellow sheep, rock sheep, snow leopard, snow chicken and so on. Therefore, in the vast Qiangtang grassland, at the foot of the snow mountain, by the lake and in the valley, there will be wild animals at any time. This is the ideal home for wild animals.
