There are only more than 10 families and more than 100 people in hongdoupo village. When the spring is warm and the flowers are blooming, groups of egrets migrate here from far away places, bringing vigor and vitality to hongdoupo village. The lively and lovely egrets either fly and play over the green fields, or fly and fall on the green canopy and sing. From a distance, they look like white flowers blooming in the trees. Entering the village, surrounded by green trees, the scenery is quiet, and egrets inhabit among the trees. Some of them play and sing, some comb their feathers, and some feed their nestlings. They are peaceful and comfortable, and the scene is moving. They are free from the picture of "fairy Heron presenting auspiciousness".

Egrets add a layer of confusing color to the villages and fields here. In the early morning, when they soar into the sky, thousands of white clouds appear over the fields and villages here, slowly drifting to the distance and disappearing in the sky. As the setting sun sets, egrets flying to various places will return to the woods and bamboo groves from all directions. I saw three groups of five, ten teams of eight hovering over the village, leisurely and contented; sometimes men and women joking, flying up and down; sometimes straight down from the sky, and then flying up again. After about half an hour, the game of returning to the forest seems to be dotted with snowflakes on the top of trees and bamboo forests, just like the scene of "suddenly like a spring breeze in a night, thousands of trees and pear blossoms" in the poem of the Tang Dynasty.

history

Egrets first settled in hongdoupo village in the 1960s. Because all the people in the village regard egrets as auspicious birds, they have made the village regulations of "love birds and protect birds, everyone is responsible". They never hurt a bird or dig out a nest, creating a safe and comfortable habitat for egrets. The village has become a paradise for birds. So the team of egrets grew stronger and stronger, gradually reaching more than a thousand.

Egrets feed on small fish, shrimp, ants and leeches. They also eat some forest pests. They are a kind of beneficial birds. Hongdoupo villagers planted a large number of fruit trees on the barren slopes around the village, which objectively provided better living and breeding conditions for egrets.

At present, Hongdou village egret park has become an egret habitat ecological scenic spot on Hainan Island, which is as famous as zhouwuji village and jialiantan in Chengmai County, attracting more and more tourists to enjoy with egrets.
