Wenchuan special tourist area is a commemorative and cultural theme scenic spot specially developed after the reconstruction of Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008. It is composed of Yingxiu, Shuimo ancient town and Sanjiang eco-tourism area. Wenchuan has attracted worldwide attention because of its profound history and culture and rapid post disaster reconstruction. It is one of the four Qiang inhabited counties in China, known as the "hometown of Dayu, home of panda and hometown of Qiang embroidery". Scenic spots

Wenchuan special tourism area in Aba Prefecture includes Yingxiu, Shuimo ancient town and Sanjiang eco-tourism area. At 14:28:04 on May 12, 2008, an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.0 on the Richter scale occurred about 11 km (31 ° n, 103 ° 24'e) to the south of Yingxiu Town, Wenchuan County, with a focal depth of 14 km. Yingxiu, which used to be beautiful and prosperous, was almost razed to the ground.

Yingxiu, the epicenter

Yingxiu town is located in the southeast of Wenchuan County, with rich vegetation and beautiful scenery. It is not only the gateway of Western Sichuan plain to Aba Prefecture, but also the only way to Jiuzhai, Huanglong world natural heritage reserve and Wolong Siguniang mountain giant panda habitat. It is the intersection of Tibetan, Qiang, Hui and Han nationalities. It is known as the "gateway of Western Qiang". Yingxiu, as the worst hit area of the "5.12 Wenchuan earthquake", now retains the original appearance of the earthquake, such as the focal point and Xuankou middle school site, and has built a new "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake epicenter memorial hall to commemorate the tragic moment, free of charge.

Shuimo ancient town

Shuimo ancient town is located on the Bank of Shouxi River, a tributary of Minjiang River in the south of Wenchuan County. As early as the Shang Dynasty, it enjoyed the reputation of "hometown of longevity". It was called Laoren village at that time, and later renamed Shuimo. Shuimo town is a blending area of Han and ethnic minorities. The inland customs and Tibetan and Qiang culture complement each other, and the West Shu culture and Zen Buddhism culture bloom together. After the 5.12 earthquake, Shuimo ancient town has been reconstructed into three areas, namely "Chan Shou old street, Shou Xi lake and Qiang city". There are many ancient streets in the town, which is known as the first town after the Wenchuan earthquake.

Sanjiang eco tourism area

Sanjiang ecotourism area in Wenchuan county is located in Sanjiang Township in the south of Wenchuan County. Xihe River, Zhonghe River and Heishi River meet here, so it is called Sanjiang. Waterfalls, ancient roads and bridges make up a beautiful scenery. Adjacent to Wolong National Nature Reserve and Qingcheng Mountain scenic spot, the scenic spot is the habitat of giant panda, the world's natural heritage, and the world's largest "living fossil plant" Davidia involucrata growing area. Transportation to Shuimo ancient town:

1. By bus: you can take the bus directly to Shuimo ancient town at Chengdu chadianzi bus station. There are two buses every day, at 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. respectively. The departure time from Shuimo to Chengdu is 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. respectively. The ticket price is 28 yuan, and the whole journey takes about 1.5 hours.

2. Take the express railway from Chengdu North railway station to Dujiangyan, about 30 minutes later to Dujiangyan, then take bus No.8 or No.9 to Dujiangyan passenger station, take the shuttle bus to Shuimo or Sanjiang, and 30 minutes later to the scenic spot.
