Shuilianshan Forest Park is located in shuilian, Nancheng District, Dongguan City. It is one of the six major forest parks in Dongguan City. The total area of the park is about 6000 mu. The main peak is 378 meters above sea level. It has lush forest, beautiful scenery and pleasant climate. Compared with the surrounding mountains, shuilian mountain is more beautiful because of its hydrophilicity.

Development history

Shuilian mountain, formerly known as Pengdong mountain, has been visited by many famous scholars since the Ming and Qing Dynasties due to its continuous mountains, waterfalls, springs and lush trees, and has left many poems such as "good scenery of Pengdong water curtain". According to the records of Dongguan county annals and other historical materials in Qing Dynasty, Xishan temple, Dongshan temple and Dongshan Academy were originally built in Song Dynasty, and Guanyin temple, Baiyi temple, luzu temple and other temples were also built in the middle of the mountain. Incense was once very popular, and it was one of the Eight Sights of Dongguan in Ming Dynasty.

The planning and construction of shuilianshan Forest Park started in 2002, with the restoration and construction of Xishan ancient Temple Museum, shuiliandongtian, Tianchi, Mengxi Tansheng, ancient temple square, shuilianshan lake, yuanzhongyuan, xiaopenglai Pavilion and other major scenic spots and 12 pavilions and other supporting facilities. The construction of the west side of the park has been basically completed, and four complete climbing paths have been built, which can lead to various scenic spots in the park. At the same time, Nancheng District Office has also repaired the damaged mountains and forests in the park, planted a large number of trees and shrubs, and now has more than 100 tree species. It is the plant exhibition and education base of the city botanical garden.

Nowadays, shuilianshan Forest Park integrates tourism, leisure, entertainment, fitness and education. It is a "back garden" for citizens' leisure and entertainment, and exudes endless charm of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

geographical environment

Shuilianshan Forest Park, with a total planning area of 22.2 square kilometers, is located in the southern suburb of Dongguan City, including part of the woodland of Nancheng District, Dongcheng District, Dalingshan Town, Houjie Town, municipal botanical garden and shuilianshan reservoir. The municipal government has invested 150 million yuan in the construction, building 19.4 km of carriageway, 9.3 km of pedestrian road, a square, pavilions, rockeries and waterfalls and other facilities. The top of the main peak is 379.9 meters above sea level, which is the highest point in the suburbs of Dongguan City. The park is divided into shuilianhu Central Park, popular science and ornamental botanical garden, shuilianshan country park and characteristic theme park. The park is a large-scale comprehensive park with the characteristics of low mountains, hills, lakes and their biological resources, integrating mountaineering activities, water recreation, plant science popularization, leisure and vacation, and returning to nature.

Shuilianshan country park has been listed as one of the city's five major forest parks.

Shuilian cave

Pengdong water curtain is one of the Eight Sights of Dongguan in Ming Dynasty. Waterfalls of water

Shuilian waterfall is located in shuilian Mountain Forest Park 8 km south of the city center. Shuilian mountain, formerly known as Pengdong mountain, is 378.8 meters above sea level, with a radius of more than 10 Li. It has continuous hills and rugged rocks.
