Eling Park

A park in the center of the city is located on the steep and narrow mountains of the Yangtze River and Jialing River. It is named because it looks like the neck of a goose. It is the best place to overlook the two rivers and the night scenery of Chongqing, and the highest one is overlooking shenglou.

Park area is very large, back against the mountain city, in the highest place of Chongqing Peninsula, tall out of the world. The environment is very good, with trees. You can have a look at the scenery and the local tea players.

Eling Park

Eling Park, formerly known as Liyuan, also known as Yiyuan, is located in eling Main Street, Yuzhong District, Chongqing. It was built in 1909, 4.3km away from the center of Chongqing. Its geographical coordinates are 29 ° 33 ′ 8.44 ″ N and 106 ° 31 ′ 55.26 ″ e, covering an area of 66254 square meters

Eling park is a private garden built by Chongqing rich businessman Li Zhanyang for his father Li Yaoting in the late Qing Dynasty. It was officially named eling Park and opened to tourists in 1958.

In February 2020, in order to pay homage to the medical workers struggling in the front line of anti epidemic, eling park will implement the policy of free visit to all medical workers in the country from the date of resumption of operation to December 31, 2020.

Historical evolution

In 1909, Yiyuan was built by Li Yaoting, a salt merchant in en'an County, Zhaotong Prefecture, Yunnan Province, and Li Xuyang, a business counsellor in Chongqing Prefecture, Tongsheng Province, Sichuan Province

In 1911, eling Park was completed, which was called Yiyuan.

In 1912, Yiyuan was renamed Liyuan.

In 1939, Feige was built in eling park. In the summer of the same year, Chiang Kai Shek and Song Meiling lived in Feige

In December of the same year, the Turkish embassy was rented in eling Park, and the first minister Xi Bashi of the Turkish Embassy flew to Chongqing; on December 28, he presented his credentials

From 1940 to 1945, Feige was the residence of Mr. Karl, British ambassador to China

In May 1944, the Turkish embassy was upgraded to Turkish Embassy, and the first ambassador was DUKAI

In 1946, the Turkish Embassy moved from Chongqing.

In July 1950, Li's descendants donated Li Yuan to the people's government. Li Yuan was changed into the headquarters of Southwest Military Region. Liu Bocheng and song renqiong successively lived in Feige

In March 1958, Liyuan was handed over to Chongqing Municipal People's government.

In March 1958, Ren Baige, then mayor of Chongqing, proposed to Deng Xiaoping that eling should be opened to the public as a park, which was approved by Deng Xiaoping

In 1983, erling Park rebuilt Liangjiang Pavilion and changed its name to Guansheng building

Architectural pattern

Eling park is located in eling Main Street, Yuzhong District, Chongqing City, with its back against the mountain city. It is located on the mountains where the Yangtze River and Jialing pass by in the north. It is adjacent to eling main street in the South and Changjiang 1st Road in the main road. The northern edge is the ridge line of Yuzhong Peninsula, covering an area of 66254 square meters. There are two entrances in the South and North. The main tourist road is 4.5 meters wide, and the secondary tourist road is 2.1 meters wide. The main scenic spots are rope bridge and art garden The parking lots are located in the entrance area and the viewing area respectively

. There are also 218 species of 83 families, 159 genera and more than 80000 plants in the garden. Among them, there are 42 ancient and famous trees.

Yihui Garden

Yihui garden, located at the south end of eling Park, has a polygonal pool, a rockery in the center of the pool, a hundred flower garden beside the rockery and a turtle stone flower stand, displaying all kinds of seasonal flowers.

The office is located in the south end of eling park. The main scenic spots include Chongqing eling Park Management Office, the former site of Turkish Embassy, etc. The former site of the Turkish embassy is a brick and wood structure building of western style bungalow built in the early Republic of China, covering an area of 47.73 square meters and a building area of 187 square meters

Located in the southwest of eling Park, designed by Chongqing Garden Planning and design office, the main scenic spots are eling contemporary Chinese Academy hall, courtyard, terrace, building, pavilion, etc

Stone rope bridge

Stone rope bridge, located in the middle of eling Park, is one of the landmark scenic spots of eling park. The S-shaped stone bridge is designed by bridge architect Li Heyang. Ronghu lake is divided into upper and lower layers due to the terrain difference. The rope bridge is on the upper layer of Ronghu lake, and there are two octagonal stone arches in different directions under the rope bridge. From both sides of the bridge, the bridge openings are one large and one small. The lower end of the bridge is embedded with stalactite It looks like two thick and curved ropes, so it is called rope bridge

Feige

Feige, located in the north end of eling Park, has a construction area of 319 square meters. It is of brick and wood structure with blue tiles and colorful eaves. It is a hexagonal pavilion in the center. It looks like a bird along the pavilion, so it is called Feige. The floor of Feige is covered with terrazzo, log floor, textured wall and dark red columns. In front of the gate is the mountain road, surrounded by green trees

A glimpse of shenglou
