Zhenziling reservoir, located in Tieling County, Liaoning Province, is a provincial type II reservoir with a design capacity of 210 million cubic meters and a water surface area of 8.7 square kilometers.

In 2016, local tourism departments launched a centralized review and inspection of national 4A level and below scenic spots. On December 5, 2016, the National Tourism Administration held a press conference to announce that the scenic spot was warned.

Zhenziling reservoir crosses baiqizhai and Jiguanshan townships of Tieling County, reaching Fushun in the East and Kaiyuan in the north. The transportation of Zhenziling reservoir is very convenient. It is about 50 km away from the North Road and 60 km away from the South Road of Tieling City. It is 50km away from Fushun City and 75KM away from Shenyang City. The forest in the area is luxuriant, and the green vision rate is 100%. There are many kinds of wild species in Zhenziling, including 14 kinds of amphibians and reptiles represented by forest frog, 4 kinds of national key protected animals and 25 kinds of provincial key protected animals.

Project overview

Zhenziling reservoir is located on the main stream of Fanhe River in Zhenziling village, Jiguanshan Township, Tieling City, Liaoning Province. It was built in March 1975 and completed in November 1976. The Panhe river is one of the main tributaries on the left side of the middle reaches of Liaohe River, with a total length of 108 km and a drainage area of 1000 km. The control drainage area of bangziling reservoir is 369 km, accounting for 37% of the Panhe river drainage area. The river channel above the dam site is 42.5 km long, with a slope of 5.9%. The average annual runoff at the dam site is 1.17 × 10 m.

Zhenziling reservoir is a large type II reservoir, which is mainly used for flood control and irrigation, as well as comprehensive utilization of aquaculture and power generation. The grade of bangziling reservoir project is grade II, and the main hydraulic structures are grade 2. The existing design standard of the reservoir is 100 year design and PMF check. The design flood level is 197.0 m, the check flood level is 199.2 m, the normal high water level is 193.8 m, the flood control limited water level is 192.6 m, the total storage capacity is 2.1 × 10 m, the Xingli storage capacity is 1.24 × 10 m, and the flood control storage capacity is 0.93 × 10 m. The main hydraulic structures of the project include barrage, spillway, extraordinary spillway, water conveyance tunnel, power station, etc. Over the past 30 years, there have been various degrees of leakage, dam landslide and other adverse geological phenomena in different parts of the project, which seriously affected the normal operation and dam safety.

The dam is a sand gravel dam with clay core, with a maximum height of 36.18 M. the upstream upstream face of the dam is protected by dry masonry, with different sizes of stone blocks, rough masonry, uneven slope surface and severe weathering of some stones. There are a lot of thatch, shrubs and rat holes on the gravel revetment of downstream backwater. In the dam body filling material, the dam shell filling material is gravel sand, and the core wall filling material is low liquid clay.

According to records, in July 1995, heavy rainfall led to the downstream beishuipo landslide. The widest part of the landslide mass was 13.5 m, sliding from the dam crest to the elevation of 175 M. the depth of the dam crest landslide was 4 m, and the core wall was exposed. The deepest part was 6.5 m, and the landslide volume was about 3200 M.

River Basin situation

The dam site of the reservoir is 40.7 km away from the source of the river. The catchment area of the reservoir is 369 square kilometers, accounting for 37% of the total basin area. Above the reservoir area is a low mountain area, with a peak elevation of 415-669 meters. Many rocks are exposed, and both banks are steep. It belongs to Jurassic and Baixie strata. The main channel is a V-shaped channel with gravel and coarse sand in the upper and middle reaches. The width of the main channel is about 50-100m. In 2005, 24000 hectares of water conservation forest were designated around the river source and reservoir inundation area, accounting for 48% of the existing forest area in Fanhe River Basin. Among them, there are 10000 hectares of forests around the reservoir area, with a forest coverage rate of more than 20%.

The main stream of Fanhe river is short, and the flow in high and low seasons varies greatly. According to the statistics in the past 30 years, the peak discharge can reach 2390 cubic meters per second when the flood peak discharge is large, and the flow is often stopped when the flood is low. Therefore, Zhenziling reservoir plays an important role in regulating the flow of the lower reaches of fan river.

Above the dam site of Zhenziling reservoir, there are two tributaries of yeerxing River and halbian River on the left and three tributaries of Xiayu River, Lugou River and Wenchi River on the right. The average annual sediment concentration of the inflow river is 0.4 kg / m3, which is a low sediment river.

The flood control standard of the lower reaches of the reservoir is from once in five years to once in ten years. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the flood peaks of five large floods were reduced by about 50% through reservoir regulation. The irrigation area of the reservoir is 4200 hectares, the fish culture area is 867 hectares, and the annual output of commercial fish is 390000 kilogram.

The "holy city drifting" project of Zhenziling reservoir starts from the dam bottom of Zhenziling reservoir and goes down to the secondary power station of Zhenziling reservoir, with a total length of 4.5 km. We have 50 professional rafting boats, and the daily reception capacity can reach 500 people.
