Yuxu peak is the sister peak of Yuzhu peak. It is located in the middle section of Kunlun Mountain, which is more than 160 kilometers away from Geermu city, Qinghai Province, to the west of Kunlun mountain pass. It is 5980 meters above sea level, 93.41 longitude and 35.45 latitude.

Brief introduction of mountain peak

Yuxu peak is the sister peak of Yuzhu peak. It is located in the middle section of Kunlun Mountain, which is more than 160 kilometers away from Geermu city, Qinghai Province, to the west of Kunlun mountain pass. It is 5980 meters above sea level, 93.41 longitude and 35.45 latitude. Yuxu peak is said to be the place where the goddess yuxu, the sister of the Jade Emperor, lives. Yuxu peak is based on mountains, standing on the cloud. It is one of the pilgrimage centers of Taoism and the main Taoist field of the Kunlun sect of Taoism. It is known as "the blessed land of Taoism" and "the most holy mountain". It is said that every year on the sixth day of March, the sixth day of June and the eighth day of August in the lunar calendar, the queen mother of the West holds a peach meeting here, inviting all the immortals to gather here. Yuxufeng is the origin of Kunlun jade in Qinghai Province. In the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, more than 3000 "gold inlaid jade" medals are all made of Kunlun jade in Qinghai Province. It's also a great place for mountaineers. The climbing season is April and October.

Climate conditions

Golmud prefecture has a continental plateau climate, with little rain, windy and drought. The winter is long and cold, and the summer is cool and short. The annual average rainfall is only 41.5 mm, but the evaporation is as high as more than 3000 mm. The sunshine time is long, the annual average is as high as 3358 hours, and the light and heat resources are sufficient. Tanggulashan town area is a Typical Alpine landform, with cold climate, only winter and summer, annual average temperature - 4.2 ℃, extreme high temperature 35 ℃, extreme low temperature - 33.6 ℃. There is no absolute frost free period. The annual average precipitation is 284.4 mm and the annual evaporation is 1667 mm.

Route to the mountain

Fly from Xi'an to Golmud, and then take a six wheel drive truck from Golmud to the base camp (about 200 km, about 6 hours); live in the camp tent.
