Taishan Palace

Taishan palace is located in Qingyun, 28 kilometers southeast of Yanshan County, Hebei Province. Built in 1374, it covers an area of 1500 square meters. There is a gate tower of the palace. The bottom floor is a large arch gate, and the top floor is a palace building with four corner cornices and a colonnade. The Buddha Hall is inverted with 13 pillars.

Development history

Taishan palace is located 10 kilometers north of Qingyun county. Now Yanshan County Qingyun town Xiguan West, the original North Bank of Xijin river. It was built in the sixth year of Hongwu of Ming Dynasty (1373), covering an area of more than 4000 square meters. It is said that Jiang Taigong guaranteed the unification of the Zhou Dynasty, and all the officials and their dependents were granted the throne of God. At the top of Mount Tai, Yu Bixia was granted the title of Yuanjun. Then the empress Bixia Longzhi built a palace every 500 Li from Chang'an to Mount Tai for a rest, so it was called Mount Tai palace. It is one of the eight sceneries of Qingyun in the old records. It is called "dusk flute of Xishan". The masses have the saying of "iron Bodhisattva of Qingyun Pavilion, Haifeng tower and Dongguang County".

Architectural features

The main body of Taishan palace, the main hall, has five rooms in depth, three rooms in width and four columns with single eaves. It is built on a 1.2-meter-high platform, surrounded by low flower walls. Green brick tile, flower dripping, dragon pattern tile. On both sides of the ridge, there is a big beast swallowing the ridge. The layout of the six pillars in the hall is reasonable. There are a group of hollow out brick carvings on the north and south sides of the East and West Gables, both of which are mythical figures. One group is "Queen's mother's tour to the East", the other group is "heavenly women scattered flowers", with exquisite and unique shapes. The gable is made in a small style. The hall is dedicated to the grandmother of Mount Tai, the grandmother of vision in the East, the grandmother of giving birth in the west, and the Bodhisattva of Guanyin in the back of the hall.
