Sanggan River, named Zhishui and Luoshui in the Western Han Dynasty, was renamed Sanggan River in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It was called Hunhe River in the Liao and Jin Dynasties, and then Sanggan River again. It originated at the foot of Guancen mountain in Ningwu County, Shanxi Province. It is about 6.5km long from Siwan bridge to Xiping village bridge. There are many steep valleys and cliffs on both sides. The riverbed is about 70-100m wide. The river gradient is 8 ‰. The water flow is fast and the water quality is relatively turbid. The general flow is 33-55 m3 / s, which belongs to perennial River, and the freezing period is about 70 days.

Introduction to scenic spots

Xiangguangdong Taoist cultural scenic spot is located in the southwest of the scenic spot and the east of Sanggan River. Some of the remaining ancient buildings and steles can still be seen. It is said that Wei Zheng, a famous official of Tang Dynasty, once practiced here with a long history and rich cultural heritage.

The waterfall Gorge Scenic Spot of Sanggan River Grand Canyon Scenic Spot is the main tourist spot at present. The river course of Shahe River in the gorge is winding, rich in water, undulating in terrain, diverse in water flow and beautiful in environment. The canyon is 6 km long, and there are 2 km long waterfalls in the middle of the canyon, which has high scientific research value. There is Xinjia natural village in the middle reaches and Zhangjiawan natural village in the upper reaches. Abundant mountain spring water resources can ensure the landscape water use in this area, and it is also suitable for hydrophilic sightseeing projects. Taking advantage of the abundant water resources in the gorge of the project area, combined with the natural landform environment, the waterfall gorge will be built into a waterfall Museum in the natural gorge by means of manual combing and guidance, forming a unique landscape of water waterfall forest in summer and ice waterfall peak in winter, and developing a characteristic amusement project combining mountains with water.

The completed Alpine rafting project in the scenic area is a key tourism project in 2018. By artificially setting the characteristics of different sections, enriching the form of Alpine paddling, designing different site conditions and drifting environment atmosphere, and on the basis of meeting the requirements of flood discharge, a 3 km long Alpine rafting has been built. All the drifting rivers use pure natural mountain spring water, which is similar to other scenic spots Compared with water flow, not only water resources are advantaged, but also water quality is clear, pure and conducive to human health. The design of the project has three main theme paragraphs to create drifting experience suitable for different groups of people and create a core tourism brand of "the first drifting in West Beijing".
