Fotuguan Park

Located three kilometers to the west of Chongqing, next to eling Park, it is the hometown of "Buddha night rain", one of the original 12 scenic spots in Bayu. Its high terrain, 388 meters above sea level, from both sides of the steep slope, for the eternal military fortress. In ancient times, there were many kinds of inscriptions such as Yeyu temple, Fotuguan inscription, Fotuguan inscription, honesty and uprightness and so on, and there were Buddha statues carved in Moyan stone on the rock wall, so it was named Fotuguan. Now it is a park open to the public free of charge.

Today's Buddha pass

Today, Fotuguan has been turned into a park. The stone wall in the south of the park is engraved with the four characters "fotuguanxiong" inscribed by Mr. Zhao Puchu, chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Association. The stone carvings, Buddha statues, Buddha Caves, Gongde steles, Jiexiao steles and viewing pavilions in Tang, song, Ming and Qing Dynasties constitute an important part of the landscape. Futuguan park will become a tourist attraction with the characteristics of traditional Ba culture.

Fotuguan park has been merged with eling Park and is open to the public free of charge.

Yeyu Temple

"You asked whether there was a time for returning home. The rain rose in the autumn pool at night. How can we cut the candles in the west window together and talk about the rain at night in Bashan

This well-known poem is only 28 words long. It was written by Li Shangyin, a poet of the late Tang Dynasty, when he was an aide to Liu Zhongying, a governor of Dongchuan. It was sent to his friend and his wife. Academically, the latter is in the dominant position at present, because I feel that it is more appropriate to write to my wife. The most impressive part of the whole poem is the "rain at night" in the two places, with completely different artistic conception before and after.

For thousands of years, Li Shangyin's poem "night rain to the north" has been widely spread with its unique artistic conception, and Bashan night rain is also famous all over the world. Chongqing has the honor to leave the historic site of Yeyu temple in Fotuguan, Yuzhong District. Sleeping in Yeyu temple to listen to the night rain of Bashan mountain has also become one of the 12 sights of Bayu.

According to the general catalogue of Chongqing cultural relics, Yeyu temple was built in the 11th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and has a mountain like roof. The middle part is a lifting beam structure, and the two sides are a bucket structure. It is 19.2 meters wide in five rooms, 4 rooms deep in four rooms, 5.85 meters high and 0.8 meters high in foundation. There are 6 levels of vertical belt treadway in front of the door. It is located in the gate of Yingqing, the east gate of the Buddha pass (in the original 114 middle school). As early as 200 years ago, this temple, with the name of "night rain" and the worship of "night rain statue", was designated as "five scenes of Bayu", which is very famous.

In the middle of July 2009, an urgent proposal of "suspending the construction of Vocational Education Center in Fotuguan to protect Yeyu Temple" aroused the high attention of Chongqing senior officials. Xing Yuanmin, chairman of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, and Wang Hongju, mayor of Chongqing, successively issued instructions, demanding relevant departments to immediately investigate and take measures to protect cultural relics.

However, under the attention of Chongqing's high-level officials, Yeyu temple still has not escaped the fate of being completely destroyed. Yuzhong District Vocational Education Center in order to meet the relevant hardware requirements of the national key vocational middle school, wantonly built the internship operation building project on the Yeyu Temple site, and the few remains of the Yeyu temple are also in the construction process.

The beautiful artistic conception of Bashan night rain has finally disappeared in the real world, leaving only the little poem in people's memory.

The stone cliff is continuous, quiet, beautiful, dangerous and majestic, with a length of 1800 meters. There are dozens of caves under the rocks, which are various and deep.
