Dabieshan Grottoes scenic spot is located in the southern mountainous area of Zhangdian Town, Jin'an District, Lu'an City, Anhui Province, about 35 km away from Lu'an City, bordering on the West Anhui rift valley scenic spot.

The scenic area covers an area of 25 square kilometers (the core scenic area covers an area of 15 square kilometers), with beautiful peaks and waters, dense vegetation, numerous historical sites, and fabulous legends. Dabieshan Grottoes scenic area is the first open rock cave in West Anhui. It has a history of 160 million years! As soon as you step into the Dabie Mountain Grottoes scenic area, you can see the rugged surface of a mountain in the distance everywhere. There are countless large and small Grottoes in the Dabie Mountain Grottoes scenic area. The smallest Grottoes can only accommodate a child bending body, and the largest can accommodate thousands of people at the same time.

Introduction to scenic spots

Dabieshan Grottoes (hongshanzhai tourist area) is located in Hongshan village and Taipingqiao village, Zhangdian Town, southern mountain area of Jin'an District, Lu'an City, Anhui Province. It is 30km away from Lu'an City and 7km away from Zhangdian town. Dabieshan Grottoes scenic area borders on the West Anhui rift valley scenic area. Hongshanzhai, the main peak, is 291.2m above sea level, which is the second peak of the area. The famous open rock (the largest cave in West Anhui) is located in the north of it. In the West there is the Jiulong nunnery site. The scenic area is rich in species, deep valleys, climbing vines and many strange rocks. There are not only thousands of acres of forest, but also the rippling Hongshan reservoir. Hongshanzhai tourist scenic spot extends to Taohuaxi Valley in the East, bordering on West Anhui Rift Valley, Hongshan reservoir in the west, village highway in the north, xiangsizhai and TAIPINGZHAI in the south, including mountains, depressions, valleys, forests, farmland and rivers. The total area is about 15 square kilometers.

Historical allusions

A branch of the hongxiuquan family of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom set up camp here, hence the name of hongshanzhai.
