Egret garden is located in the state-owned Yangdian forest farm, huzu Pu town, Gushi County, Xinyang City, Henan Province. It is 25 kilometers west of the county. It can be reached along 312 national highway or xinyangye highway. It is a nature reserve integrating leisure vacation and popular science investigation. The forest area is 4 square kilometers, the water area is 0.7 square kilometers, and the forest coverage rate is 93%.

There are more than 80 families, 1073 species of wetland plants and 12 types of woody wetland vegetation. There are 13 species of mammals, including 7 Palaearctic species and 19 amphibians and reptiles. 128 species of birds have been identified, accounting for 43% of Henan Province and 12% of the whole country. It is a rare habitat and breeding place for waterfowl in the inland plain south of Huaihe River in China. Egrets, the second-class national protected animal, are the main species, with more than 30000 egrets. There are 45 kinds of national key protected animals and 2 kinds of national key protected plants.
