Tongyu River Scenic Spot

Tongyu River scenic spot is located in Binhai and Xiangshui counties of Jiangsu Province, 83 kilometers away from Yancheng City. It takes four hours' drive to Shanghai and Nanjing, and 90 minutes' drive to Yangzhou and Lianyungang. The old abandoned Yellow River, the new Tongyu River, the North Jiangsu irrigation canal and the Huaihe River waterway run through the whole scenic area. In August 2005, it was named "National Water Conservancy Scenic Spot".

Relying on the blue water and blue sky, lush grass and trees, waterside pavilions and fountain sculptures, the scenic spot takes the sightseeing of water conservancy project landscape and scenery along the way from Binhai to Xiangshui section of Tongyu River as the main line, as well as the water conservancy facilities such as Huanghai billows and seawall up to standard projects. It is 40 km long along the axis of Tongyu River in the north-south direction and 50 km long along the axis of the main irrigation canal in the north of Jiangsu Province in the east-west direction. Each scenic spot covers an area of more than 4200 mu. The water and land transportation is convenient and the environment is elegant. There are water conservancy Hotel, European style square, fishing center and other attractions in the scenic area, and water park and water conservancy engineering exhibition hall are planned and constructed. It is a Water Conservancy Scenic Spot integrating tourism, leisure vacation, conference reception, visiting practice, recreation and fitness, and popular science education.
