Dajingmen is located in the western suburb of Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Zhangjiakou is located at the junction of Beijing, Shanxi, Hebei and Inner Mongolia, about 180 kilometers away from Beijing, known as "mountain city beyond the Great Wall". Compared with other passes of the Great Wall, dajingmen is not big. It is actually a city gate, just in the terrain where one man is the gateway and ten thousand people are not allowed to open it.

Located between Taiping mountains in the East and west of Zhangshi, dajingmen is a pass of the Great Wall. It is a brick arch with stone foundation. The wall is 12 meters high, the bottom is 13 meters long and the width is 9 meters. There are two wooden and iron gates. The top is a platform, 12 meters long and 7.5 meters wide, with a crenel 1.7 meters high outside, a parapet 0.8 meters high inside, and steps to the East. Man made, natural and integrated. On the lintel, there are four big characters "Da Hao He Shan" written by Gao Weiyue in 1927. Each character is one meter square and has strong writing power.

What's more, there are so many people around, and there are so many cars coming and going that I don't know the trace of the feeling of looking for the past. If you stand on it, it's the East and West Taiping mountains that are soaring up, making you a little out of breath. Personally, I think you should choose a rainy or snowy day to make it feel more desolate.
