Xinminglou

Xinming tower, also known as the new drum tower, South Drum Tower. Located in the South Street of Yulin city. It was built in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. According to the annals of Yansui Town, "in the middle of Jiajing, Nancheng was built at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. It was not as good as a knife fight, but it was even more rare to hear about it After many repairs in the Jiaqing and Guangxu years of the Qing Dynasty and in 1957 and 1983, it was painted in 1986.

General situation

Xinming building is a square wooden structure. It covers an area of 216 square meters, 180 meters in circumference and 20 meters in total height. The first floor is 6.27 meters high (including 0.9 meters of stone foundation), the second and third floors are 4.6 meters high and the top is 4.53 meters high. The foundation of the building is divided into four piers, which are made of big Bluestone. A cross passage is left between the piers, connecting the south, North and west streets. Each pier has 7 huge columns, 28 of which support the whole building. The inner corner of each foundation pier is connected by four huge columns, and the main frame is composed of four jade beams. The eaves of each floor are arranged with glazed tile animal back, surrounded by veranda, surrounded by wood carvings, and flowers and black animals are carved on the top of the frame, the forehead, the root door and the window. The roof of the building is crisscross, with four eaves and four corners. The ridge is in the middle of the Baoding, which is made of glazed tiles. There is a bronze Buddha statue about 2 meters high in Wanli period of Ming Dynasty in the three storey Pavilion.

 

In 1982, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit at the county level in Yulin County. In 1991, Shaanxi provincial government announced it as a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level.
