Wufengfang site
Wufengfang site is located in beihuangfang, the county government. It was built in 1591 by Wu Zhiyu, Peng Shihuan, Wang Ruchun, Zhang Yingke and Xu Ziyu. In 1941, the Japanese bombed. According to historical data, from 1938 to 1945, 252 Japanese planes invaded the coastal air, dropped 1288 bombs, killed 182 people, injured 203 people, and destroyed 1761 buildings. Wufengfang burned: the first Japanese invasion of Linhai Chengguan was on April 21, 1941. On the 19th, the Japanese army landed from Haimen, occupied the former residence in Haimen and burned down more than 1000 houses in Haimen.
On the 20th, Japanese troops marched up the river and fired machine guns and grenades at Jiangxia street, Lanxiu building at the south end of Ziyang Street, and Tianning Temple was attacked. After the Japanese invaded Linhai City, they burned down the auditorium of the party headquarters of the Kuomintang in Linhai County, and wufengfang was burned first and then bombed. The Japanese invaded Linhai City and occupied Chengguan for five days. They evacuated in the afternoon of April 24. In the five days, 545 houses of the county government were burned down, five people were shot dead, one person was burned to death, and the memorial archway and Wufeng archway were burned and destroyed.
