Kuaitangshan Island

Kuaitangshan island is a mainland island. It is located in the south of Yanchi Township, Sanmen County, Zhejiang Province. Puba port is connected with maotouyang in the East. It faces nanmenkeng, Linhai City across baidaimen waterway in the south. Niutoumen waterway and the former Sanmen salt farm in the north. Today, Sanmen coastal industrial city is an important manufacturing base in Taizhou. Adjacent to the reconstruction of Taizhou coastal channel 30 km.

Introduction to geology

The island is composed of maroon pyrotuff. The island is named for its various reefs and unique rock mass. The marine erosion landform is rare in China and is known as "China reef Museum".

To the northeast of the island, there are nearly ten miles of reefs and caves. These reefs have formed hundreds of pictographic landscapes under the long-term erosion of the waves, among which the most representative are "gate of life", "Jiaolong out to sea", "Cape of good hope" and "Wupi reef". Jiaolong goes to sea is formed by a blue rock sandwiched in tuff. The blue rock is about 15 meters long, with an average width of 1 meter. The upper part is 1 meter wide, and the lower part is 2 meters wide. It is like a green dragon entering the sea, so it is called Jiaolong goes to sea. "Mingmen" is located 200 meters south of "Jiaolong going out to sea". It is a natural cave scoured by waves. The cave is 4 meters wide, 8 meters high and 3 meters deep. It faces northeast. It is like the gate of life, so it gets its name. "Cape of good hope" is located in the southeast of the island. It is a promontory extending from the kaitang mountains to the East China Sea. The reefs here have been washed into honeycomb by the sea water. Among them is a turtle stone, with an area of about 3 square meters and its head facing Southeast. It looks like a turtle just landed. Wupi reef is located in the southwest, covering an area of several thousand square meters, and is higher than the sea wall. From a distance, it looks like a pile of coal, which is also called "floating reef" by local people. When typhoon No.11 struck in 1997, the sea water flooded the dam, but Wupi reef still "floated" out of the sea. There are five peaks with an altitude of more than 100 meters on kuaitang island. The main peak is changhuawan mountain with a height of 206 meters, among which Tianmao shield rock and shibaluohan rock are the most representative. Tianspear, shield rock is located on the hillside in the south of the island. A huge stone, more than 200 meters high and 50 meters wide, looks like a shield "hanging" on the cliff. Beside it, there is a huge stone, sharp as a spear. And the whole mountain looks like a mighty warrior. In the middle of tianspear and shield rock, there is a thousand year old vine, which climbs on the rock wall. The dragon is curled and green. Eighteen Arhats rock is located on the southeast hillside of kuaitang island. It is composed of eighteen columnar stones. It is about 20 meters high. It is shaped like eighteen Arhats sitting in meditation, so it gets its name.
