Dikaner Village

Dikaner village is just in the middle of the northward invasion of desert between Kumtag Desert and Jueluotage mountain. The Kumtag Desert starts from the north of Turpan Shantuo basin in the north, and reaches the lower reaches of Tarim River in the south of kuluktag in the south, facing the Taklimakan Desert across the river.

Introduction to Xiaocun

Few people know about this small village, except for the drivers and occasional travelers who travel from dikaner village to rob desert all the year round. This used to be the only way to Lop Nur, Loulan ancient city and the Silk Road "dahaidao": from here, you can reach Loulan ancient city more than 300 kilometers south. The "Great Sea Road" starts from Yumenguan, Gansu Province and ends in Turpan, Xinjiang. It is further divided into several roads to the Far West. "Dahaidao" passes through Gobi, quicksand, dried up ancient river, Kuruktag and the southern foot of Huoyanshan. Dikaner village is the first small oasis after crossing the desert Gobi of "dahaidao". Dikaner village is the last village that leads to the depth of Kumtag Desert. From here you can get to the mysterious Lop Nor and the beautiful Kumtag Desert. The village still retains its primitive form of living. The adobe is surrounded by low houses, and the roof is covered with thick dust. If it is not for the existence of Haloxylon ammodendron, it is difficult to find the existence of this desert village.

The villagers of dikan'er village are the adherents of the ancient Loulan kingdom. They moved here when Loulan Kingdom died out. The men here are tall and straight, while the women are much smaller. The high bridge of nose and deep eye socket show a delicate beauty. In this village, although there are electric lights and roads showing some modern flavor, the villagers basically live in isolation. Because of the lack of modern civilization, they all live a long life. It is said that an old lady has lived here for 120 years. This is a village deeply embedded in the desert. The village is as simple as a mulberry book left in the desert. It presents the color of yellow sand, single and dignified, silent but full of mystery. Everyone who comes here can't help but want to open it and read its long story, but they can never understand it, except for the scattered beacons and the collapsed city walls outside the village.
