Fuyou Palace
Danshui Fuyou temple was founded in the Yongzheng period. Today's temple was built in the first year of Jiaqing (1796). It is an early Hegang temple in Danshui. Danshui people used to call it "Mazu Palace".
Fuyou palace is the birthplace center of Danshui street. It faces south from the north, faces the sea from the mountain, and has an interesting legend about the rise and fall of geomantic omen with the eight mile temple on the other side. Fuyou palace has experienced many renovations and changes in streets, but it has always retained its traditional style. The stone carvings in the temple are simple and thick, and the wood carvings and statues of Mazu, Qianliyan and shunfenger are of extraordinary standard! There are a lot of antiquities preserved, which is a precious cultural asset for the study of the development of Danshui port!
