Crescent Lake

Yueya Lake is located in Qinhuai District of Nanjing City, with Ming City Wall in the West and Zijin Mountain in the East. It is named for its crescent shape.

In March 1996, the government of Baixia District built the Yueya Lake Park according to the shape of Yueya Lake, the overall layout of the city's construction, the concept of "people-oriented, environment first" and the theme of transforming the southeast of the city.

In 2017, the government funded the lake bottom desilting and water ecological restoration project of Yueya Lake, and built an island in the middle of the lake to provide a safe and comfortable habitat for nearby birds.

Yueyahu park has been undertaken by Nanjing Southeast University, Nanjing Academy of art, Nanjing Landscape Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd. and other units, including overall planning, alternative design and cultural creativity. The district government has drawn on the strengths of many people, made a thorough argument, and put forward ten easy plans. During this period, the builders overcame the difficulties and carried out the construction meticulously. More than 20000 people successively took part in the voluntary labor, and more than 10 units including Yancheng Hongxia group company and the District Landscaping Management Office took part in the construction. It took one and a half years to build the park in September 1998, with a total investment of more than 70 million yuan.

Yueya Lake Park covers an area of 29.6 hectares, including 17.2 hectares of lake water and 2600 meters of footpath around the lake. It is named because the lake is crescent shaped. According to the Ming Dynasty ancient city wall, the park is built around the lake, with lake light, mountain scenery and ancient walls.

Park environment

Zhenzhiwei restaurant in the park advocates that "chicken essence and monosodium glutamate are not included in the dishes, and the original juice and flavor are original ecology". The surrounding environment is delicate and delicate, and the color is bright and harmonious. Climbing the stairs, you can have a panoramic view of the lakes and mountains. There are boats on the water, platforms, curved bridges and pavilions near the water, which are suitable for sightseeing and fishing near the lake. In the middle of the lake, there is a water mountain stage with a unique shape and a music fountain. Its scale is the largest in China. There are four ancient statues of dragon, rosefinch, Xuanwu and white tiger, which are vivid and auspicious.

The garden scenery is connected by the flower path of the square. Walking among the gloomy flowers, you can have a panoramic view of the lakes and mountains. The essence of China's garden art is designed. It integrates mountains, water, city and forest into one. It sets traditional styles and modern techniques in a garden, and sets the human landscape in the true mountains and waters. The scenery is beautiful and the artistic conception is lofty. After the completion of the park, leaders at all levels throughout the country visited the park in an endless stream, and gave a high evaluation to the crescent Lake Park.

The Nanjing Municipal People's government has invested more than 2 million yuan to list the lighting project of Yueya Lake Park as one of the four major lighting projects in Nanjing. The project was completed at the end of June 2003, and the night of Yueya Lake will be more charming. The first two phases of Yueya Lake Park cover an area of about 20 hectares, of which the lake water area is about 12 hectares. At present, there is a large-scale children's Park, yan'anxie (police officer Club) and other parks need further development and construction.
