Nanhu is located in the south foot of Hanshan mountain, 17 kilometers southwest of Hanzhong City. It is a provincial scenic spot. The water area of the scenic spot is 1109 mu. It belongs to subtropical humid monsoon climate, with no severe cold in winter, no intense heat in summer, warm spring and cool autumn, and four distinct seasons. The scenic spot is evergreen with green hills, dense rivers and beautiful scenery. The unique natural beauty of Nanhu is "green mountains, clear water, pines, bamboo sea, birds singing and flowers fragrance". Nanhu is praised as the first lake in Shaanxi Province and the concentrated embodiment of Lingshan and Xiushui in Hanzhong.

Nanhu, a scenic spot with beautiful mountains, is composed of seven gullies, eight beams and sixty-eight mountains. The scenic spot is full of green trees and evergreen all the year round. Biological resources are very rich, there are nearly 1000 kinds of wild plants, known as the "natural medicine library". There are nearly 100 kinds of animals, and birds can be seen everywhere on the lake and in the forest.
