The stone boat in the summer palace of Beijing, also known as the Qing Yan boat, is located in the northwest of Kunming Lake and on the West Bank of Wanshou mountain. It was built in 1755. The hull is carved with huge stones, with a total length of 36 meters. The two-story white wooden buildings on board are decorated with marble patterns with paint and decorated with brick carvings on the top. They are exquisite and gorgeous. They are the famous treasures of Water Architecture in the summer palace. When it rains, the rainwater falling on the top of the ship is discharged into the lake through the four taps of the ship through the four corner hollow pillars. The design is very ingenious.
The cabin on the boat was originally an ancient architectural form, but the Chinese cabin on the boat was burned when the British and French invasion. In the 19th year of Guangxu (1893), according to Cixi's intention, the original Chinese style cabin was transformed into a western style cabin with five color glass inlaid on the windows. It is the only building with western style in the garden. And take the meaning of Qingyan River, named qingyanfang.
