Astronomical peak
Astronomical peak is located in the east north of Tianchi, with an altitude of 2670 meters, which is the highest peak in the east of Tianchi.
The top of the peak is like a hawk's beak, stretching to the Tianchi Lake, so it is also called hawk's beak peak. Astronomical peak is a mountain peak composed of pumice, which is a volcanic eruption. The gray and light yellow pumice creates a towering and abrupt scene. On one side of the Tianchi Lake, there is a cliff, which is as white as snow in the distance. It is mixed with volcanic breccia and cinder, which looks like a jade ring inlaid on it. The astronomical peak is magnificent and has always been the best place to watch the Tianchi Lake, but climbing is not easy. Because pumice is easy to slide, even though it is so steep, visitors are still interested in climbing the peak.
