The main line of the exhibition is Ai Qing's "why do I always have tears in my eyes, because I love this land deeply". There are five exhibition halls, namely "Bawu ancient rhyme", "magic land", "local folk customs", "hometown of hundred workers" and "inheritor of poetry and books", to interpret Jinhua from the perspectives of history, geology, sociology, industrial and commercial civilization, and cultural heritage It shows the profound historical and cultural accumulation of Jinhua as "a nation of history and culture, a town of mountains and rivers, a place of celebrities, and a city of literary style".

Jinhua museum is a comprehensive municipal museum with functions of education, research, collection, protection and exhibition.

Venue features

Jinhua museum is located in guzicheng historical and cultural reserve, on the Bank of Wujiang River. It is based on cultural relics and traditional streets, with beautiful scenery of three rivers and six banks as the background, and is integrated into the rich historical and cultural atmosphere of the ancient city. The total construction area of the museum is 13600 square meters, including 4700 square meters of exhibition hall and more than 42000 pieces of cultural relics and ancient books. There are five exhibition halls, namely, the exhibition hall of "Bawu ancient charm" in Jinhua from the perspective of history, the exhibition hall of "magic earth" in Jinhua from the perspective of geology, the exhibition hall of "local customs" in Jinhua from the perspective of ancient villages, the exhibition hall of "hometown of hundred workers" in Jinhua from the perspective of industrial and commercial civilization, and the exhibition hall of "inheritors of poetry and books" in Jinhua from the perspective of literature and art. It is a municipal comprehensive museum integrating education, collection and research functions, carrying forward and inheriting excellent traditional culture, displaying historical relics and disseminating cultural knowledge. It is an important historical and cultural landmark of Jinhua City, a window of spiritual civilization and a cultural garden for the audience. After years of construction, transformation and upgrading, the Municipal Museum was officially opened to the public on September 28, 2015. Visitors can visit it free of charge by brushing their ID cards.

In 2019, bayong building, Tianning Temple, Shao Piaoping's former residence and General Li Youbang's office will be opened, and the venues will be managed by Jinhua Museum.

Exhibition hall introduction

The ancient charm of Bawu

The exhibition hall interprets Jinhua from the perspective of history. It is a general history exhibition of Jinhua. With the line of "ten thousand years on the mountain - Eternal romance - hundred years of vicissitudes", the exhibition starts from the mountain culture ten thousand years ago and tells the history of Jinhua in prehistoric, pre Qin, Qin and Han Dynasties, Sui, Tang, song and Yuan Dynasties, Ming and Qing Dynasties and modern times in chronological order.

Magical land

This paper interprets the colorful resources of Jinhua from the perspective of geology, describes the geological development history of Jinhua, and displays the characteristic geological landforms of Jinhua, such as Danxia landforms, karst landforms, hot springs, etc. looking back at the paleontology of Jinhua area, it displays the mineral resources contained in Jinhua, such as fluorite, copper, molybdenum, zinc, silver, etc. it is a small "Jinhua nature museum" and a simulated dinosaur ！

Local customs

From the perspective of sociology, this paper interprets the clan autonomy, family rules, family precepts and folk customs of Jinhua ancient villages. There are a large number of well preserved traditional villages in Jinhua. These villages have formed families and clans linked by blood, or as the main form of social management organization. Through a variety of ways, the exhibition hall shows the traditional culture of protecting the village, civilizing future generations, maintaining order, pension and relief, sacrifice, celebration, etc., and introduces bullfighting, Daoqing, benchelong, temple fair and other customs, gathering the core content of the intangible cultural heritage of Jinhua traditional villages.

Hometown of all kinds of workers

The legend of industry and Commerce on the red soil is narrated. The red soil in Jinhua area is densely covered, which is not suitable for planting rice and food crops. In this context, people face the reality and make unremitting efforts to make this red land bloom with brilliant industrial and commercial flowers, becoming a famous hometown of all kinds of industries, a city of hardware and a capital of small commodities in China and even in the world.

The successor of poetry and books

There are two exhibition halls in the exhibition hall

1、 Chen Songping calligraphy and painting exhibition: most of the exhibits in this exhibition hall are donated by Mr. Chen Songping's family to the Municipal Museum free of charge. Chen Songping is a famous painter in our city. He was born in Dongyang, Jinhua. He used to be an art teacher and teaching and research group leader of Jinhua normal school. He was also the president of Jinhua Art Association. He was elected deputy to the people's Congress of Zhejiang Province and Jinhua City. He learned from famous Chinese painters LV Fengzi, Chen Zhifo and Zhang Shuqi, and was highly valued by Xu Beihong. Lu Fengzi, Zhang Shuqi and Chen Zhifo wrote inscriptions on his works, and Yu Dafu, a famous writer, wrote inscriptions because he loved his works. Chen Songping's calligraphy and painting exhibition hall will display donated and collected works of Chen Songping for a long time to commemorate Mr. Chen Songping's outstanding contribution to Jinhua's calligraphy and painting career.

Opening Hours

From 9:00 to 16:30 every Tuesday to Sunday, the museum stops entering after 16:00, closes every Monday (except legal holidays and special circumstances), and closes all day from Lunar New Year's Eve to the third day of the lunar new year.

The basic exhibition is open to the public free of charge all the year round.

Minors, persons with disabilities or other inconvenient activities must be accompanied by normal adults or guardians when entering the museum. The safety of the accompanying visitors is the responsibility of their own.

Alcoholics, disheveled clothes and pets are not allowed to visit the museum.

It is strictly forbidden to bring inflammable, explosive, controlled instruments and other dangerous goods into the museum.

Please take good care of the public facilities. Please do not touch the exhibits. Please do not climb or lie down. Please follow the instructions when using the facilities for the disabled.

Please don't use flash or bracket when taking photos in the exhibition hall.

For group visits (more than 30 people), an appointment must be made three days in advance. After confirmation, the group must visit at the appointed time. The reservation will be cancelled if the ticket is not picked up.
