Xu Beihong's former residence is a three Bay brick and wood structure bungalow located in Qianlu, Yangshuo County. In 1936, Xu Beihong visited Yangshuo and wanted to settle down at the foot of Bilian peak. When Li Zongren learned about it, he bought the house as a gift. After Xu Beihong lived there, he called himself Tianmin of Yangshuo. And engraved a seal of Zhu Wen as a memorial.

The former residence of Xu Beihong in Yangshuo county is located in front of the county government on the front street of Yangshuo County, beside the Lijiang River of the county. This house was once given away by Mr. Li Zongren when Xu Beihong lived in Guangxi from 1935 to 1938. The former residence is a small house with three entrances. It is surrounded by white walls, small green tiles and a slightly yellowish cornice. A plaque of "Xu Beihong's former residence exhibition hall" written by Mr. Wu Zuoren is hung under the gate. On one side of the plaque is inlaid with a marble tablet of "Xu Beihong's former residence". Stepping into the inner court of the former residence, I saw a magnolia tree more than 10 meters high, with thick encirclement, thick shade and intoxicating fragrance. This magnolia tree can be said to be a major feature of Xu Beihong's former residence. Such a big tree, it witnessed the sadness of Xu Beihong when he first arrived in Guilin, the peace after he gradually retired, the love with Liao Wenjing later, and the pride when he often splashed ink or looked up at the sky.

The former residence exhibition hall is a single story three Bay brick and wood structure building with maroon eaves. The exhibition hall mainly shows the real life of Mr. Xu Beihong here, as well as the pictures reflecting his life experience. Xu Beihong's famous paintings such as spring rain on the Lijiang River, crossing the river when walking, and crowing of chickens are all created here. Now it is a key cultural relic protection unit in Guilin.

Xu Beihong has an indissoluble bond with the beautiful Lijiang River. He once regarded Yangshuo as a place to settle down. His famous picture of "spring rain on Lijiang River" was painted in "Panzhuang" in Yangshuo. In 1937, Xu Beihong traveled from Guilin to Yangshuo by boat, intoxicated by the beautiful scenery of Lijiang River. He wrote in his travel to the South: "there is a peach garden in the world, which is the best landscape in the world, and Yangshuo in Guilin! River Yingying, according to the people such as a mirror, lingering around, flat flow Xiejie, with silk. The mountain light is rippling and picturesque. It's really a fairy mirror in the world! " He went out alone, looking for accommodation in bilianfeng. One day, in front of a dilapidated house, I saw two tall magnolia trees, blooming like snow. I felt nostalgic for them. I rented a house and carved a stamp of "Yangshuo Tianmin" for painting in Yangshuo. After Mr. Li Zongren knew about this, he sent someone to buy the house, build it, and give it to Xu Beihong as a dwelling place for painting.

In 1985, Xu Beihong's former residence was restored with funds from the people's Government of Guangxi autonomous region. This is a three Bay brick and wood structure bungalow, which was later expanded to build an exhibition room and a courtyard. There is a bronze statue of Xu Beihong on the marble pedestal more than one meter high in the courtyard. On both sides are unique stones of Yangshuo, with seals such as "Tianmin of Yangshuo" and "seal of Xu Beihong". In the hall, there is a plaster figure of Xu Beihong. In the ear rooms and exhibition rooms on both sides, there are group photos and life photos of Xu Beihong and his wife Liao Jingwen, as well as a number of art works such as "spring rain on the Lijiang River". The five words "Xu Beihong's former residence" on the front door are written by Ms. Liao Jingwen. "Panzhuang", 5km away from the county seat, is Xu Beihong's resting place for sketching and painting when he lived in Yangshuo (it was built by Pan Yizhi, director of the political discipline Department of the general command of the fourth group army of Guangxi National Revolutionary Army at that time, and is now a high-grade hotel). It is built in Yangshuo old eight "Castle Peak" by the mountains and rivers, a wide field of vision. There are ancient trees in the sky and ancient ferry below. Dukou Baibu is far away from the confluence of Jinbao River and Yulong River. On the other side are villages in Zhudou village, Chuanyan village and rhinoceros ridge. Qingming season, continuous drizzle, white walls, bamboo whirling, mountain scenery, light and ethereal. Xu Beihong often paints from life here. He paints a vivid picture of "spring rain on the Lijiang River" locked in the "green scenery" unknown to people in his boudoir, leaving an artistic treasure to the country and the people. People can see from afar in "Panzhuang": Gaotian scenic spots such as "green scenery, camel crossing the river, Jianshan ancient temple, Julongtan, Chuanyan ancient banyan, yueguagaofeng, Fenglou evening photo" have been integrated with Yangshuo's picturesque mountains and waters, which seems to put a pearl necklace on Panzhuang.

Xu Beihong's former residence is at 17 Xianqian street, Yangshuo County. Mr. Xu Beihong went to Yangshuo twice from 1935 to 1937 and lived in Panzhuang and No. 1 Qianjie of Yuanxian County for nearly a year. In 1935, Xu Beihong opposed the dark rule of Chiang Kai Shek, and was forced to leave Nanjing in anger. He went to Yangshuo, Guilin, for creative activities. First rent here, then Li Zongren bought the house and gave it to him as a gift. He lived with his wife Liao Jingwen from 1936 to 1937. A lot of works were created in this period, such as "morning song", "against the wind", "wind and rain thinking of gentleman", "ancient cypress", "spring rain of Lijiang River" and so on. Xu Beihong's former residence is a brick and wood structure bungalow with three rooms in width and three rooms in depth. The center is the main hall, the east room is the guest room, the west room is the studio, and the back of the hall is the bedroom. In 1984, the old house was renovated, and Liao Jingwen wrote a plaque on the former residence of Xu Beihong in Yangshuo. It opened to the outside world in 1985. Panzhuang, Chuanyan, Gaotian Township, Yangshuo, is a place where Xu Beihong often paints from life. The famous work "spring rain on Lijiang River" was created there. Now the western style two-story building still exists.
