Shantou Bay Bridge is a sea crossing channel connecting Haojiang district and Longhu District in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, China. It is located on the jinshihai. It is one of the important parts of Shenhai Expressway (National Highway G15) < / I, and also one of the main urban roads in the east of Shantou City.

The foundation laying ceremony of Shantou Bay Bridge was held on December 17, 1991;

Construction started on March 28, 1992;

It was put into operation on December 28, 1995;

On January 30, 2011, it was included in the expressway network toll system of Guangdong Province.

Shantou Bay Bridge starts from Nanbin road in the south, crosses over qishihai and Mayu Island, and ends at Taixing road in the north. The total length of the line is 2500 meters, and the main bridge is 961.8 meters long. The bridge deck is a two-way six lane Expressway with a design speed of 60 km / h.

Construction process

On December 17, 1991, the foundation laying ceremony of Shantou Bay Bridge was held.

On March 28, 1992, construction of Shantou Bay Bridge started.

Shantou Bay Bridge was opened to traffic on December 28, 1995.

In October 1996, Shantou Bay Bridge passed the acceptance.

On January 30, 2011, Shantou Bay Bridge cancelled the main line toll station and incorporated it into the expressway network toll system of Guangdong Province, and set up Bay and Aotou ramp toll stations.

In March 2013, eight test slings were replaced for Shantou Bay Bridge.

On April 7, 2015, Shantou Bay Bridge was inspected and repaired.

On August 13, 2016, the sling replacement project of Shantou Bay Bridge was completed.

Bridge location

Shantou Bay Bridge is located at the entrance and exit of Mayu island in the east of Shantou port, and at the entrance and exit of Shantou harbor in the east suburb of Shantou City, 5km away from Shantou City. The bridge starts from the intersection toll station of Nanbin road and Shenhai Expressway in Haojiang District in the south, < / I, crosses over Qishi sea, connects Mayu island with haibian road in the middle, and ends at the toll station of Haiwan Bridge in Taixing road in Longhu District in the north. Shantou Bay Bridge has a total length of 2500 meters, of which the main bridge is 961.8 meters long, with a span of (154 + 452 + 154) meters; the North approach bridge is 1129.1 meters, and the south approach bridge is 409.1 meters. The main bridge deck is 24.2m wide and the approach bridge deck is 28.1m wide. The main tower is 31.2m wide and 92m high. The two main cables are 1030 meters long and 0.56 meters in diameter respectively, and are composed of 10100 galvanized high-strength steel wires with a diameter of 5 mm, weighing 15 tons.
