Pearl Bay

Pearl Bay is located on the west side of Dongping fishing port in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province. From coastal highway to Liangdong highway, it is 40 kilometers away from Yangjiang City. It is a natural beach. It was built in 1992 and opened to the public. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, there are 100000 mu of pine, Acacia and Yuejiao forest. Behind the beach is a 3 square kilometer hinterland. Around Pearl Bay, there are many wonders and historic sites. The most famous landscapes are "eight wonders": yuanyangshi, xianrenjing, wanghaiting, gezhoufanying, longnvfoguang, wanrenfen, Mazu temple, shilihai dike. Next to it is one of the eight scenic spots in Yangjiang. The beach is 1700 meters long and 800 meters wide. There are many tourist facilities in the scenic area, such as sea swimming center, seaside villa, three-star hotel, "Fisherman's happy sea", fishing area, large standard barbecue field, kite field and so on.

The origin of the name

Once upon a time, Pearl Bay was a shallow bay. Feieling in the east of the Bay, beihuanjing in the West and baigenshan in the North surround the shallow water into a "U" shaped big harbor, which is called kouyang. There is a young man named Jingui who lives in the ocean fishing for years. One day, Dayu found a big dolphin stranded on a water island on the edge of the ocean. He couldn't bear to kill it, so he rescued it and released it to the sea. It turns out that this dolphin is the third daughter of the Dragon Emperor. In order to thank the fisherman for saving her life, little dragon girl turned into a beautiful girl and married big dragon girl

You are my wife. From then on, the couple set up a danjiapeng on the bank to live. On weekdays, when her husband went fishing, her wife raised pearls in the ocean. When people see the bride as beautiful as a flower and has a unique skill of cultivating and processing jewelry, they call her pearl fisherman, and the place where she cultivates pearls is called "Pearl Bay" However, when the Dragon Emperor learned that his daughter left the palace and went ashore to become a fisherman's wife, he became very angry and decided to ask for a crime. One night, the Dragon Emperor shakes the Dragon Palace and makes a strong wind and waves. He rushes the couple into the sea together with the danjiapeng. The fisherman's quick wit turned into a dolphin and rescued her husband, who was struggling in the sea. The Dragon Emperor refused to give up and ordered the shrimp soldiers and crabs to put the couple to death. At the same time, Nanhai Guanyin is merciful and pours holy water on the mortal world. I saw a moment of calm, clear water, water drilling out a pair of mandarin duck birds, water dependent. The next day, people found that the sea water in kouyang had all dried up, and the sea had turned into a mulberry field. A large area of lotus roots grew in the field. On the beach, there were two hills. The one in front was like a big dolphin, and the one behind was like a turtle. We all say that lotus root is the immortal grass left by the queen mother to benefit the world. The mountain in front is the incarnation of Pearl fisherman, which is called "Yufu mountain". The one behind is also the incarnation of Jingui, which is called Jingui mountain.

Main landscape

The most famous landscapes are "eight wonders": such as yuanyangshi, xianrenjing, wanghaiting, gezhoufanying, longnvfoguang, wanrenfen, Mazu temple and shilihai dike. Next to it is one of the eight scenic spots in Yangjiang. The area has beautiful scenery. A two kilometer long half moon shaped beach embraces a bay of clear water. The shore is green, like a giant sapphire with gold and jade. Pearl Bay Beach is an open bay with clean sand, gentle slope, moderate waves, clear and pollution-free seawater, and no reefs. It is a natural bathing beach suitable for both men and women. Around Pearl Bay, there are many wonders and historic sites, such as yuanyangshi, xianrenjing, wanghaiting, wanrenfen, niangma temple, and so on. Besides, there are also myths and legends about the scenic spots, such as Gezhou sailboat shadow, which is one of the eight scenic spots of Yangjiang River. Visitors from all over the world can't forget to visit Dongping, enjoy the seaside, eat seafood, and enjoy the unique scenery. Yufushan Seaside Park (Feilong Temple)

Yufushan seaside park on the west side of Pearl Bay is built according to this beautiful love legend. It is a seaside park integrating historical culture and local customs. The park is mainly divided into six scenic spots: Yunv square, Lotus Square, ladder landscape, island sightseeing landscape, stone viewing area and sea fishing area. Among them, the statue of "Pearl fisherman", which is 30 meters high and imitates Tang style, is located in the fisherman's Square. Pearl fisherman's platform is one of the best places to view in Dongping town. Feilong temple is under construction. The main hall will be completed by the end of 2013, and the whole temple is planned to be completed in 2015.
