Yashan National Forest Park is located 22.5km southeast of Qixia City, Shandong Province. The main peak of Ya mountain is 806 meters above sea level. It is one of the famous mountains in Jiaodong Peninsula. The forest area is more than 6000 hectares. The central tourist area is 586.5 hectares. There are 289 species of woody plants in 65 families, more than 600 species of herbs, and more than 200 species of birds and animals.

It is distributed in the upper part of shalinggou, dayahougou, eryahougou and huangcaowa on the back slope of Yashan mountain. Qiu Chuji (1148-1227) was born in binduli (5km north of the city) of Qixia county. During the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, he was the founder of Quanzhen School of Taoism with Ma Danyang, Tan chuduan, Wang Yuyang, Liu chuxuan, Hao Datong and sun Buer. He was called "beiqizhen". Qiu practiced in Yanxia cave of Kunqi mountain at the age of 19, worshipped Wang Chongyang as his teacher at the age of 20, and lived in seclusion in Panxi, Shaanxi Province in 1174 In 1191, he went back to his hometown to build Bindu palace. In 1206, he returned to Ninghai. After 1208, he visited Laoshan twice and preached in Qingzhou, Dengzhou and Laizhou. In 1214, he received an imperial edict to pacify some of Yang an'er's volunteers.
