Shihe Park

Shihe park is located on the Bank of Shihe River in Shihe District of Xinyang City, at the intersection of Jiefang Road and Shencheng Avenue. On the Bank of the West Shihe River, it is a comprehensive park in the downtown area of Xinyang City. It is adjacent to Shihe River in the south, Beijing South Road in the North, Shencheng Avenue in the East and Xiguan bridge in the west, covering an area of 170000 square meters.

About the park

Shihe Park was officially opened in 1980, with a green area of 146100 square meters and a green coverage of 151100 square meters, accounting for 88.86% of the total park area. In 2001, Shihe Park was recognized as "provincial standard Park" by the Provincial Department of construction. On May 1, 2002, the park was officially opened to the people of the whole city for free, with an annual admission of 1.5 million tourists.

There are five functional areas: the district and the elderly activity center. In the garden, there are bamboo, wood and onion cages, fountains and beads, such as rose garden, plum garden, cherry garden, osmanthus garden, etc. It is a good place for Xinyang people to have leisure.

Beautiful scenery of the park

"The roses are red in spring, the lotus is blooming in summer, the osmanthus is fragrant in autumn, and the plum blossom is blooming in winter.".

There are three artificial islands in the east of the park. Pine and maple are planted all over the island. Red and green are shining. Many rare birds and animals are mainly displayed in the zoo.

There are various recreational facilities for children and young people to play in the park, including small roller coaster, pirate ship, etc.

The park has a large coverage of trees and fresh air in summer, which is suitable for morning exercise.

There are five functional areas in the park: Children's play area, water play area, sightseeing and leisure area, animal viewing area and elderly activity center.

Kids Corner

There are all kinds of amusement facilities, including an elephant like slide, which was donated by the water company to Shihe Park in 1982. There is also a cherry garden near the children's playground. It was given away by Shizuoka in 1982 when it visited China. There are about twenty cherry trees.

Water recreation area

In the south of the park, there is a man-made lake, Jinghu Lake, which was dug by hand in 1984. Tourists can play in the lake by boat.

Sightseeing and leisure area

There is also a bamboo forest in the park, which can give people green and fresh enjoyment in spring, summer, autumn and winter. Every spring, when the bamboo leaves and shoots are new, the bamboo forest is closed and visitors are not allowed to enter. The bamboo forest after the snow in winter is also unique.

Animal viewing area

There are camels, monkeys, tigers, raccoons, peacocks and other animals in the zoo.

Activities for the elderly

core

The activity center for the elderly is called yishouyuan. There are often elderly people to the next fitness play chess, relax, prolong life.

Yishouyuan: it was built in 2006 and put into use in 2007, covering an area of 22 mu. It has four gateways, two throwing courts and a comprehensive activity field, many fitness equipment, round table stone chairs in the shade, and often accompanied by birds. There are opera room, painting room, table tennis room, reading room, go room, meeting room, tea room, and the proposed indoor multi-function hall.

Near the park

Next to the park, there are Shihe Hotel, Hemei supermarket and so on. Not far away, there is Xinyang Tongji Hospital, which is the best choice for tourism and leisure.
