Huangshui medicinal botanical garden

Huangshui medicinal botanical garden is located one kilometer away from Huangshui Town, Shizhu County, East Chongqing. It is a comprehensive and multi-functional garden integrating sightseeing, scientific research, production, sightseeing, Chinese herbal medicine planting resource garden and Chinese Herbal Medicine Specimen Exhibition Hall. It is not only a good place for recreation, but also a good place for increasing knowledge. Huangshui medicinal botanical garden is the first comprehensive and multi-functional eco-tourism scenic spot in Chongqing, which takes "medicine" as the theme and integrates the cultivation and processing of medicinal materials, scientific research and popular science, tourism and sightseeing. The scenic spot was officially opened to the public in 2007 and is an important part of Chongqing National Huangshui forest park. Relying on Huangshui forest park, the project meets the overall functional requirements of medicinal botanical garden and China Coptis research and development center, and is characterized by health preservation.

Planning and construction

Huangshui medicinal botanical garden is one of the key construction projects of Shizhu County in the 11th five year plan. It was proposed to be built in 2005. In that year, the project land surveying and mapping, overall planning and design were completed. It was officially opened to the public during the forest tourism festival in 2007.

The park is divided into four zones, namely: Chinese medicinal Germplasm Resources Garden and research and production area, good essence area, Dan grass collection area, frost forest wild interest zone and landscape forest belt. The garden is known as a pocket garden because of its blooming all year round.

In the garden, the trees are verdant, the vines are crisscross, and the trellies are interspersed with them. The small bridges and flowing water add more elegance. There are 300 kinds of medicinal plants, such as Coptis chinensis, Cornus officinalis, Mahonia sinensis, Sanmu medicinal materials, Ginkgo biloba, etc. Li Shizhen recorded more than 1000 kinds in compendium of Materia Medica, and there are more than 200 kinds now, but they are still known as three-dimensional and pocket "living Materia Medica". It is a resource garden for sightseeing, scientific research, production, sightseeing and Chinese herbal medicine planting. The good medicine is not only bitter, but also has a variety of forms and the fragrance of flowers. A tour of the garden is better than a year of health preservation.

Bitter culture of Coptis chinensis

Huangshui medicinal botanical garden in Huangshui National Forest Park is built on the basis of giving full play to the brand effect of Rhizoma Coptidis in Shizhu, showing the characteristics of "bitter culture" of Rhizoma Coptidis in Shizhu and the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine resources. Although it only accounts for one tenth of Guangxi Medicinal Botanical Garden, it is unique in Chongqing, filling the gap of Chongqing medicinal botanical garden, especially the traditional Chinese medicine planting resource garden.
